The Yamaha National Technician Grand Prix (NTGP) makes its return after a 7-year hiatus, celebrating the exceptional skill, dedication, and expertise of Yamaha’s top mechanics. This event reinforces Yamaha’s commitment to service excellence and the continued growth of its technicians-vital to delivering the brand’s promise of quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

The National Technician Grand Prix features the best mechanics from different Yamaha dealerships, all certified through the Yamaha Technical Academy (YTA). This global training program sets the standard for motorcycle technicians and culminates in the NTGP where they demonstrate their technical abilities and problem-solving skills.
The competition unfolds in three stages: (1) a pre-qualifying test to select participants from each dealership, followed by (2) the Regional Technician Grand Prix where a written test assesses their technical knowledge, product understanding, and servicing expertise, and (3) the final round where participants with the highest scores compete in the National Technician Grand Prix.
From the 345 participants, the Top 10 who advanced to the National Technician Grand Prix (NTGP) were:
- Cristoper Ian J. Linao | 3S MOTORCENTRAL GEN. TRIAS
- Rodelio D. Cruz | 3S MNC RODRIGUEZ

The National Technician Grand Prix will consist of two challenges: (a) the customer handling test, a simulation of the customer during an after-service delivery, and (b) the technical skills contest, where they will simultaneously perform actual diagnosis and repair on the same model and motorcycle issue. The winner will represent YMPH in the Yamaha World Technician Grand Prix in Japan, competing against other technicians from Yamaha global subsidiaries.
Yamaha Motor Philippines values its people as the driving force behind the brand’s success. By investing in their development, Yamaha ensures that its technicians continuously raise the bar in service quality, fostering trust and excellence in every customer interaction.
