The Pampanga Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. (PamCham) has thrown its support behind NLEX Corporation for its various projects in Pampanga and nearby areas.
The Pampanga business group particularly commended the collaboration between the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and NLEX in implementing the road network expansion plans in the province, and the recent roadway lighting upgrade from Balagtas, Bulacan to San Fernando City, Pampanga.
“We highly encourage more infrastructure development projects in Pampanga to keep up with the growth of our communities. The projects such as the Sto. Tomas Interchange, the Aquino Byway Extension connecting San Fernando and Mexico, and the Atlu Bola Bypass Road in Mabalacat City are seen to further stimulate investments in the province,” said Architect Nestor S. Mangio, president of PamCham.
Last month, the tollway company said it is working closely with DPWH on how to incorporate the projects in Sto. Tomas, Mexico, and Sta. Ines, Pampanga safely and efficiently in the existing expressway system. These new projects are part of the multi-billion Pampanga Circumferential Road master plan which is being pushed by the local government to spur development and improve access in and out of the various cities and municipalities.
The Pampanga business group also lauded the tollway company for completing the roadway lighting upgrade and increasing the illumination of the LED lights at the 33-kilometer stretch of NLEX, making it easier for drivers to safely traverse the road at night.
“PamCham is a strong advocate of improvement. We are delighted that our private sector partner, NLEX Corporation, is doing its part to improve the safety and convenience of motorists traveling the expressway,” Mangio said. He also recommended that the illumination of the expressway be further extended from San Fernando City to Mabalacat City.
From February until the last week of March 2021, NLEX replaced around 1,300 old lights that have 16 lux brightness level with lights that have 20 lux to provide motorists with adequate lighting and offer uniform luminosity of roadway lights for the entire NLEX system.
These new LED lights also emit less heat, thus helping protect the environment by reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
For his part, NLEX Corporation president and general manager J. Luigi L. Bautista assured that “the company will continue to be a trusted partner of both private and public sectors in undertaking projects that will boost mobility, safety, and progress.”
NLEX Corporation is a subsidiary of the Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC), the tollways unit of Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC).
