    Alibaba Group and SAP announce strategic partnership to accelerate AI-powered digital transformation

    Alibaba Group and SAP SE recently announced a strategic partnership to jointly accelerate enterprise innovation and digital transformation through advanced cloud and AI technologies. The partnership combines SAP’s industry-leading enterprise software with Alibaba Cloud’s secure, scalable cloud infrastructure and cutting-edge AI capabilities. Alibaba Cloud will be part of the latest SAP Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) Certification Program to fully support customers running SAP’s enterprise cloud solutions. Alibaba Group will also leverage SAP Cloud ERP Private for its enterprise infrastructure as part of the collaboration.

    The collaboration will initially focus on the China market, and rollout is planned for Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa to enable enterprises to implement SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and embark on their RISE with SAP and GROW with SAP journeys. With Alibaba Cloud as a certified hyperscaler for SAP workloads, enterprises will also be able to deploy SAP Cloud ERP and SAP Cloud ERP Private solutions on Alibaba Cloud’s infrastructure. The two companies also plan to establish a joint go-to-market approach to serve global businesses across industries with scalable and intelligent solutions tailored to local needs. SAP is also exploring the deployment of its SAP AI Foundation on Alibaba Cloud to bring powerful, scalable AI tools to customers operating in China.

    ASC honors industry nurturers, celebrating Year 2 of ongoing celebration of 50 years of advertising self-regulation

    As part of a three-year commemorative series marking the golden anniversary of advertising self-regulation in the Philippines, the Ad Standards Council (ASC) hosted its second tribute event 15th May at Makati Diamond Residences, paying homage to “The Nurturers” — the vanguards who championed the centralization and sustainability of the country’s self-regulatory framework.

    Spearheaded by the ASC and supported by its seven member associations — the Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies of the Philippines (4As PH), Digital Marketing Association of the Philippines (DMAP), Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP), Media Specialists Association of the Philippines (MSAP), Philippine Association of National Advertisers (PANA), United Print Media Group (UPMG), and Out of Home Advertising Association of the Philippines (OHAAP) — the event celebrates individuals whose unwavering advocacy has fortified the pillars of truth, decency, honesty, and fairness in Philippine advertising.

    This year’s honorees, “The Nurturers,” are recognized for their enduring contributions in shaping and protecting the ethical landscape of advertising. Their efforts ensured the continuity of the industry’s self-governing structure, bolstering public trust and upholding the industry’s collective responsibility to serve both its stakeholders and Filipino consumers.

    The ASC has long worked in close partnership with regulatory bodies to ensure that advertising content complies with national laws and standards. Its lineage traces back to the Philippine Board of Advertising, evolving through the Advertising Board of the Philippines, before becoming today’s Ad Standards Council. Through the crucial work of the AdBoard’s Advertising Content Review Committee (ACRC) and the Trade Practice and Code of Conduct Committee (TPCC), Philippine advertising was steered toward ethical advancement, legal compliance, and moral responsibility.

    This landmark celebration pays tribute to the individuals who helped elevate the ACRC and TPCC into guardians of ethical advertising. Their work in drafting, enforcing, and arbitrating the Code of Ethics stands as a benchmark in regional advertising history.

    The Alon Medallion, a powerful emblem of this legacy, reprises its symbolic role in the ceremony. Designed by Dante Dizon of 13 Lucky Monkey, it represents the industry’s transformation — fluid yet directed, collaborative yet disciplined — unified under the banner of Self-Regulation.

    As the celebration of self-regulation continues, the ASC calls on all members of the advertising community to reflect, recognize, and reaffirm their commitment to ethical advertising. The journey, built on the shoulders of these steadfast advocates, is one of shared accountability and enduring relevance.

    Isuzu PH continues dominance with 43% share of the truck market 

    Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) continues its streak as the leading truck brand in the country, securing an impressive 43% truck market share from January to April, based on the combined report from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Phils., Inc (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association, Inc. (TMA). With 1,592 truck units sold in the first four months of the year, Isuzu further solidifies its reputation as the most trusted truck brand in the Philippines for 25 consecutive years.

    The Isuzu N-Series led sales with 905 units, reflecting a 7.2% growth from the same period in 2024.     Following closely is the Isuzu medium-duty trucks, which sold 545 units, marking a 2.4% year-over-year increase. These trucks are favored for long-haul routes and are designed to be fitted with different body applications with added driver safety.

    Meanwhile, heavy-duty trucks showed a remarkable 59% increase compared to last year, with 142 units sold – the majority coming from the newly introduced S&E Series. The surge in demand is largely driven by infrastructure projects and support from local government units. Equipped with features like Electronic Vehicle Stability Control (EVSC) and an Advanced Instrument Cluster with Driver coaching, these trucks set a new benchmark in safety and operational efficiency.

    This competition is not only a clash of intelligence but also a platform for student-led innovation. IQ League: Vanguard is a one-of-a-kind inter-organizational cognitive competition where student organizations face off in a battle of wits, strategy, and mental strength. Each participating organization will form a team composed of four members who will represent their group throughout the competition. The catch? The challenges they will face aren’t just randomly selected, they are specially designed by fellow student organizations from other universities, so each round is unpredictable and exciting. These games are designed to test participants across four major cognitive domains: Calculation, Memorization, Abstract Reasoning, and Spatial Awareness.

    As the teams advance from round to round, they will compete in a series of these brain games, each one designed by a different game creator, so that each challenge is distinct and intellectually challenging. But beyond the competition. IQ League:Vanguard has a greater mission: the winning team has the privilege of selecting a cause or advocacy they wish to support — demonstrating that intelligence, when combined with purpose, can create meaningful impact in the community.
