Rumors of a new OS for Apple Mac devices have been answered during the kick-off of the Worldwide Developer Conference, as Apple announced OS X Yosemite, which will come out this fall for free.

Yosimite will also feature a new and improved Notification Center sidebar that can be customizable through third-party widgets and apps available in the App Store.
Spotlight is also getting a major update with its brand-new Alfred-esque launcher equipped with a search field that allows the users to quickly launch apps by typing just the first few letters – this also includes local documents and search results from the internet.
Safari is will be equipped with a smarter address bar that can suggest relevant Wikipedia articles based on the topics you type in. It will also feature a “share” button for quick sharing of links and web contents.
Apple also upgraded their Mail app with new smart features that primarily addresses attachment problems. Moreover, they added the new MailDrop for files that are larger than 5GB which can also be synched through iCloud. Files stored in the iCloud Drive can also be accesible through Finder, including files from iOS apps.
