The partnership will initially roll out international money transfer services to around 1,400 JuanPay locations, with plans to expand across the wider 2,000-outlet network.

Western Union and JuanPay have entered into a partnership that will make international money transfer services available through participating JuanPay locations across the Philippines.

The arrangement gives customers another way to send and receive money internationally through JuanPay outlets, alongside services such as bills and loan payments, government transactions, pharmacy services, and other consumer services. The offering is particularly relevant to communities with strong ties to Overseas Filipino Workers, where customers may prefer access to remittance services through established local businesses.

Initial rollout across 1,400 locations

The partnership combines Western Union’s financial network spanning more than 200 countries and territories with JuanPay’s nationwide non-bank financial services footprint.

An initial rollout is planned across approximately 1,400 priority JuanPay locations, drawn from the company’s wider network of 2,000 owned and franchise-operated outlets. The partners intend to progressively extend the service across that broader network.

JuanPay, a subsidiary of ACM Group of Companies, has an established presence in provincial markets and communities with strong OFW ties. Its network is supported by local Filipino entrepreneurs operating JuanPay locations.

For JuanPay, the partnership expands the range of financial services available through its existing network. For Western Union, it creates an additional retail channel complementing its existing physical and digital presence in the Philippines.

“Our vision for JuanPay has always been to bring essential financial services closer to Filipino communities,” said Rico Fernando M. Chico, chairman of ACM Group of Companies.

“Our collaboration with Western Union brings together global connectivity and JuanPay’s community-based approach to access. Ultimately, this is about making trusted financial services more accessible and convenient for every Juan.”

Combining digital and face-to-face access

The partnership also reflects continued demand for physical financial-service locations alongside digital channels.

“With customers in the Philippines wanting more flexibility and convenience, multi-service locations that serve as one-stop shops for their financial services needs have a vital role to play, especially for people and communities that prefer face-to-face support, or have varying levels of digital connectivity,” said Vince Tallent, senior vice president and head of APAC for Western Union.

He said the arrangement brings together JuanPay’s local reach and Western Union’s international network to make cross-border financial services available through community-based outlets.

Western Union also expanded its digital offering in the Philippines with an upgraded mobile app launched in October 2025, featuring dual send-and-request capabilities. The JuanPay partnership adds another physical distribution channel alongside that digital presence.

“Partnerships are one of the most powerful ways we innovate,” said Gregory Laurent, Western Union regional vice president for the Philippines, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and Pacific Islands.

“By collaborating with JuanPay, we’re creating new and more effective ways to serve customers, making international remittances more accessible, convenient and integrated into the platforms they already use every day.”

Expanding community-based financial services

JuanPay president Atty. Rafael Angelo M. Padilla said the partnership supports the company’s goal of broadening access to financial services through technology-enabled community locations.

JuanPay already offers services including utility-bill payments, government contributions and fees, loan payments, and other business transactions. Its model combines digital payment technology with a franchise network that gives local entrepreneurs a role in delivering financial services within their communities.

With the addition of Western Union’s international remittance services, participating JuanPay locations will be able to extend their existing range of everyday financial transactions into cross-border money movement.
