“We are excited to work with our friends at Moonton once again, this time to bring the most competitive national MLBB league from Indonesia to esports fans around the region. Aside from being the first-ever mobile esports property in SEA to take on a franchised model like the NBA and the NFL, MPL-ID is home to some of the most talented and well organized MLBB pro teams in the world. This will guarantee world-class esports action for eGG Network’s 100 million potential viewers around the region,” said Astro and eGG Network chief of sports CK Lee.

With RM 1.27 million (US$300,000) prize pool, the tournament gathers Indonesian teams Alter Ego Esports, Aura, Bigetron Alpha, EVOS Legends (reigning MPL-ID Season 4 and M1 Champions), Geek Fam, Genflix Aerowolf, ONIC Esports, and RRQ Hoshi (MPL-ID Season 4 runner-up) to battle it out over the Regular Season for a spot in the Playoffs.

“MPL-ID is one the fastest growing national-level MLBB leagues in our stable. In the first week of MPL-ID Season 5, we saw a 150% growth in peak concurrent viewership on digital platforms versus last season, reaching over 476,000 fans in Indonesia. We’re also attracting international talent, with coaches and players hailing from Singapore, Malaysia, and Brunei. As such, we are excited to tap into an international fanbase for MPL-ID through this partnership with eGG Network, SEA’s leading esports channel ,” said MPL Indonesia league commissioner Lucas Mao.
