Acer remains the Philippines’ leading laptop brand in both the consumer and gaming segments, extending a market run that has lasted for two decades.
According to Nielsen-GfK data cited by Acer for the first five months of 2026, the company held 37% of the consumer laptop market and 34.5% of the gaming laptop segment. These figures follow a record 37.3% share of the total consumer laptop market in 2025, supported by the company’s gaming and non-gaming portfolios.
Two decades at the top
Acer was the Philippines’ top-ranked laptop brand for 20 consecutive years from 2006 to 2025, based on the IDC Quarterly Personal Computing Device Tracker for the fourth quarter of 2025 cited by the company.
The milestone coincides with Acer’s 50th anniversary in 2026. The technology company was founded in 1976 and now operates in more than 160 countries.
“These achievements are deeply meaningful to us as we celebrate Acer’s 50th anniversary,” said Sue Ong-Lim, managing director of Acer Philippines. “They reflect our strong commitment to our mission of breaking barriers between people and technology, one that has guided our innovations for five decades.”
More than laptop sales
Acer attributes its local position to an ecosystem that combines a wide retail presence, an extensive service network, and long-running brand and community programs.
Acer Day, now in its 10th year, connects technology with lifestyle experiences and community engagement. The Asia Pacific Predator League, entering its eighth year, gives esports teams from across the region a competitive platform and helps surface emerging talent.
These programs give Acer ways to remain visible beyond the point of sale, particularly among younger consumers and gaming communities.
Education and AI initiatives
Acer is also expanding its engagement with the education sector through the Acer Edu Summit. The regional event brings together policymakers, educators, and technology leaders to discuss the future of education through artificial intelligence and human-centered innovation.
Alongside its computers and displays, the company continues to explore new businesses and opportunities related to sustainable growth and its environmental and social responsibilities.
A leadership position entering 2026

The latest figures cited by Acer indicate that its long-term Philippine market lead continued through the opening months of 2026. Its performance across both mainstream and gaming laptops also shows the value of serving different customer groups while supporting the products through retail, service, and community programs.
