After reviewing the ASUS Vivobook Slate 13 OLED a month ago, the ASUS has once again given us a look at their new Vivobook line. This time they have lent us their Vivobook Pro 14 OLED (M3401), the Vivobook made for aspiring and young designers.
This is my first impression of the device as I work on the full review. Battery life, charging, and benchmarks will be included in the full review.
Unboxing the device, you’ll be greeted with the laptop itself, the 120W charger, some paperwork, and some ASUS Vivobook stickers from the brand’s collaboration with Tokyo-based artist Letterboy.

Moving on to the device itself. The Vivobook Pro 14 OLED looks and feels premium. The lid has a metallic chassis. On the lid is the new Vivobook branding, like that on the Vivobook Slate 13 OLED. The rest of the laptop is made out of pretty durable plastic.
The Vivobook Pro 14 OLED is surprisingly portable. It weighs 1.4kg and comes in at 18.9mm thin when closed. I often forgot that I was carrying a laptop when I brought it with me for some work at one time.
Opening the laptop, you’ll see the 14-inch OLED display. Unlike most laptops, the Vivobook Pro 14 OLED has a 16:10 aspect ratio, which allows users to see more compared to a traditional 16:9 laptop. It is when you turn on the device that magic truly happens.

The ASUS Vivobook Pro 14 OLED has one of the best displays on the market. It has a 2880 x 1800 (2.8K) resolution with a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. The display is also Pantone validated, making me think that artists will have a field day on this laptop.
Moving on to the keyboard, I have to say, ASUS has also done a great job with the Vivobook Pro 14 OLED. Despite being a small device, the keyboard has ample spacing and actually feels great to type on. Our unit had the optional NumPad 2.0 on the touchpad, which is useful in some cases.
Moving on to the laptop’s specs, our review unit is the top of the line with a Ryzen 9 5800H processor paired with an NVIDIA RTX 3050. On paper, this laptop can do almost anything you throw at it, even gaming. For my gaming experience, you’ll have to wait for the full review soon.

The area where the Vivobook Pro 14 OLED immediately impressed me the most is with I/O ports. The laptop has by far the most expansive sets of I/O ports I’ve seen. It has three USB Type-A ports, A USB Type-C port, a full-sized HDMI, an audio port, a microSD card slot, and of course, the proprietary charging port.

Another thing worth noting is the speakers. While they are tuned by Harman Kardon, I found that they are not the loudest. Still, though they can fill a small room, what I am impressed about them though is that even at max volume the sounds aren’t audibly distorted.
The ASUS Vivobook Pro 14 OLED (M3401) has an SRP of 74,995, and if you want to test out the laptop or immediately get one, here’s a list of ASUS stores in the country.
