HONOR has officially launched the Robot Phone, a flagship smartphone built around an integrated motorized camera system designed to move independently from the phone itself.

At the heart of the device is what HONOR calls its 4DoF Titanium Agile Gimbal, an ultra-compact mechanical system made up of more than 100 precision components and developed through 60 manufacturing processes. The company says the design is supported by more than 100 patents and is 65% smaller than mainstream gimbal systems while offering 200% greater structural strength.

Its 2.6g Titanium Gimbal Motor can move at speeds of up to 360 degrees per second, while the HONOR Super Steel Flip Motor delivers a claimed torque density of 120Nm/L. Together, the components allow the camera assembly to pan, tilt, reposition, and stabilize itself while remaining integrated into the smartphone body.

Dual 200MP cameras with ARRI imaging technologies

Its imaging system pairs a 200MP gimbal-mounted main camera with a 200MP periscope telephoto camera and 50MP ultra-wide camera.

The Robot Phone is also the first product released under the Cinematic Imaging Partnership between HONOR and the professional cinema camera company ARRI.

Its rear camera system includes a 200MP Agile Gimbal Main Camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor and f/1.6 aperture, paired with a 200MP Periscope Telephoto Camera using a 1/1.4-inch sensor and 2.7x optical zoom. A 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 122-degree field of view completes the system.

The main camera supports 10-bit ARRI LogC3 recording through ARRI CINEMA mode. HONOR has also integrated ARRI Wide Gamut 3 and ARRI Looks with its H1 Image Chip, while AI-based noise reduction is claimed to improve video signal-to-noise ratio by 8dB and dynamic-range optimization supports up to 14 stops.

The video pipeline performs noise reduction earlier in the RAW domain and processes data in 14-bit 4:4:4 before outputting 10-bit LogC3 and 4:2:2 video. ARRI Looks can be previewed in real time, while footage can be taken into editing software such as DaVinci Resolve and used with ARRI LUTs.

“For more than a century, ARRI has helped filmmakers translate technology into compelling visual stories,” said Harald Brendel, director of image science at ARRI. He said the collaboration brings selected elements of ARRI Image Science and professional workflow principles into a mobile environment.

AI turns the camera into an active system

The Robot Phone’s moving camera hardware is paired with AI-powered motion control through MagicOS. YOYO Robot Mode combines multimodal perception, contextual understanding, gesture recognition, and physical movement.

Voice Source Localization and AI Live-Tracking allow the camera to pan and tilt automatically to keep a user in frame while recording video, livestreaming, or participating in a video call. Gesture controls can also deploy the camera arm and trigger shots without the user touching the device.

Several movement modes are supported, including Tilt Lock, First Person View, FPV Vertical, and AI SpinShot. HONOR also says that YOYO Auto Execution can understand user intent and perform multi-step actions across supported apps and system settings.

An open Agent Skills interface is intended to enable third-party developers to build additional experiences around the device’s gimbal, perception, and embodied interaction capabilities.

Flagship hardware underneath

The HONOR Robot Phone runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform and uses a custom cooling system intended to sustain performance during extended recording and AI workloads.

Battery capacity is rated at 7,060mAh, with support for 120W wired and 50W wireless HONOR SuperCharge.

The device also features a 6.31-inch LTPO OLED HONOR AI Eye Comfort Display with an adaptive 1Hz to 120Hz refresh rate, claimed peak brightness of 6,800 nits, and 4320Hz PWM dimming. HONOR says the phone uses an all-metal integrated-molding unibody and protects the display with NanoCrystal Shield.

From concept to commercial product

HONOR first showcased the Robot Phone at Mobile World Congress 2026 in March before demonstrating its stabilized camera system at events including Cannes Film Festival China Night and the 28th Shanghai International Film Festival.

The device is now entering commercial rollout following its official global launch, while teasing the possibility of a Philippine launch.

In Summary

The HONOR Robot Phone combines a motorized 4DoF gimbal with dual 200MP cameras, ARRI LogC3 recording, AI-powered tracking and gesture controls, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a 7,060mAh battery, 120W wired charging, and a 6.31-inch LTPO OLED display. HONOR has begun the device’s global commercial rollout.
