Ford Philippines recently announced that this year’s July sales was the best among previous Julys with a 35 percent year-over-year growth amounting to 1,723 shipments. This record July likewise saw record sales for the Ranger pickup on top of continuing demand for the EcoSport, Explorer and Everest models. Year-to-date, Ford has sold 10,587 vehicles for a 41 percent improvement over the same period last year.

“The continuing rise in appeal for the Ford brand among Filipinos, a strong economy and healthy consumer confidence is helping keep our showrooms busy across the country. And our full line-up of global Ford vehicles is allowing us to connect with and meet the wants and needs of such a wide range of customers,” said Kay Hart, managing director, Ford Philippines.

July’s Ranger sales increased 45 percent year-over-year for 650 shipments – an all-time record in the Philippines. 13 locally available Ranger variants have been catering to the Philippine market with a 61 percent improvement year-to-date for a total of 3,933 sales.

“The popularity of the Ranger across all customers in this segment is really helping to drive its success. Its class-leading features and versatility make it an aspirational vehicle, whether it’s for personal use, commercial needs, or sometimes both,” explained Hart.

The EcoSport urban SUV saw consistent orders in its fourth month of availability, selling 523 units last July with an overall sales of 2,164 vehicles since its launch. The Everest SUV sold 258 units for the month with a year-to-date improvement of 22 percent for 1,903 shipments. Also chipping in was the Ford Explorer with 98 July sales and 678 year-to-date sales which is a 15 percent increase from the same period last year.

Meanwhile, the Ford Fiesta continues to be a top choice among yuppies, with July sales brought about by strong interest in its 1.0L Ecoboost variant. Named as the International Engine of the Year for the third consecutive time, the 1.0L Ecoboost engine is capable of as much power and performance as a 1.6L engine while doling out improved fuel mileage of up to 20 percent.

“Our July success is a continuation of an exceptional year for Ford in the Philippines, and demonstrates that Ford is going further to deliver a line-up of global vehicles that Filipinos continue to appreciate and enjoy,” said Hart.

Following their performance, Ford remains on track to have 37 Philippine dealerships in operation by the year’s end. This includes the unveiling of their Alabang, Baguio, and Zamboanga showrooms in the next few months.

They are also reaffirming their commitment to driver education and road safety with their Driving Skills for Life program. Now in its seventh year, Ford expects to have around 2,000 young and newbie drivers participating, including college and university students.
