TCL introduced its new A400 Series TVs during the “Heritage in Every Frame” event at Centro de Turismo Intramuros Manila, using the launch to showcase how display technology can celebrate Filipino art and culture. Timed with the country’s 128th Independence Day, the event highlighted the intersection of innovation and heritage through digital presentations of the works of National Artist Fernando Amorsolo.
The TCL A400 Series is the company’s latest lifestyle TV lineup, featuring QD-MiniLED display technology and an Art Gallery mode that displays artwork when the television is not in use. Designed to blend into modern living spaces, the series combines home entertainment with décor inspired by fine art.
“The TCL A400 Series represents our vision of what home entertainment can become, not simply a device for viewing content, but a centerpiece that enhances the living space even when not in use,” said TCL chief executive officer Peter Chen.
Technology Meets Filipino Art
The event highlighted the capabilities of the TCL A400M and A400 Pro through a curated exhibition of Fernando Amorsolo’s paintings displayed on the new TVs. Using high-definition digital animation, the showcase brought the National Artist’s works to life while preserving the warmth, color, and detail of the original paintings.
Among the featured works were Carabao Riding in Sunset, Noonday Meal, Tinikling, Dalagang Bukid, The Blind Man, Fruit Market, and Bataan. Presented on the TCL A400 Series, the collection offered visitors a different way to experience Filipino art, culture, and history through digital display technology.
Adding another dimension to the exhibit, digital animator Mark Cañega reimagined Amorsolo’s paintings using modern animation techniques.
“Animating the masterpieces of National Artist Fernando Amorsolo is an incredible honor and a unique technical challenge. His paintings are not static; they are vibrant snapshots of moving wind, flowing rivers, and rural Filipino life. To honor his legacy, we ensured the animation feels like a moving canvas rather than a cartoon. Every frame is carefully optimized to preserve Amorsolo’s signature use of glowing sunlight and warm colors, matching the beautiful texture of the original oil paintings perfectly on the TCL A400 screen,” Cañega said.
Brand Partners Share Their Impressions
The event also featured a discussion with TCL brand partners actress Heaven Peralejo, content creator Jenny Yeo, and Miss Universe Philippines 2024 Chelsea Manalo, who shared their impressions of the new TVs.
“When I first saw the TCL A400 Series TV, I didn’t even realize I was looking at a television. I thought it was an actual painting. The screen captures the texture, details, and raw emotion so flawlessly that the essence of the original artwork remains intact. It truly captures humanity, reflecting the remarkable endurance of Filipinos during those times,” Peralejo said.
For Yeo, the standout feature was Art Gallery mode.
“My absolute favorite feature is the art gallery mode. Growing up, I always watched TV, but now I love that this mode allows me to display beautiful, available paintings instead of a blank screen. It strikes the perfect balance between functionality and aesthetics. As a mom, I genuinely enjoy having this in our home, which is why I really want the TCL A400 Series TV,” she said.
Chelsea Manalo also highlighted the connection between technology and culture.
“The TCL A400 Series brings a modern touch to the museum experience. It seamlessly integrates with today’s technology, effectively bridging our rich culture and heritage with modern innovation. In fact, when you look at the TV, it doesn’t even feel like a typical piece of modern technology—it blends in like a piece of art,” she said.
Giving Back to Intramuros
The event also served as a platform for giving back, with TCL donating televisions and air conditioning units to the Centro de Turismo Intramuros, the Intramuros Information Center, the iMAKE History Fortress LEGO Education Center, and the Fr. Luis G. Merino, O.S.A. Library.

Joan Padilla, administrator of the Intramuros Administration.
