From the classical-chic streets of Paris, the celebrated fashion brand, Camaieu recently made its way to Manila, instantly adding bursts of vivid colors to the rather monochrome, bustling streets.

Camaieu is basically a French term for a painting technique where an image is created in various shades of a single color. In lieu of this, the launch stayed faithful to its name and showcased bright colors from the quaint French inspired table arrangements, to the stage, and the fashion show. The brand’s principle is also translated into the various designs and colors of clothes available on its flagship store at 4th level of the Shangri-la Plaza, East Wing.

Established in the 1980’s,  Camaieu is now Paris’ leading fashion wear for women and is currently present in more than 20 countries with over 1,000 stores worldwide.

Camaieu is vivacious, supportive, feminine, fresh and free-spirited.  These are the brand philosophies that makes Camaieu relatable to all women, wherever you are in the globe”; says Head of Operations for Asia Rudy Liger.

Currently, Camaieu is present in 4 major locations in the Philippines; right in the center are their branches at the Shangri-la Plaza and Megamall Fashion Hall.  Covering the south is SM BF and the north with Ayala Fairview Terraces and soon SM North EDSA.

“We will continue to expand the brand to other locations in the country, not just in Metro Manila but also in key cities of Visayas and Mindanao.  We want Camaieu to be a staple to every Filipina’s outfit, with affordable quality and very relatable designs we are positive that this vision is not far from reality”; said Anton Gonzalez president and CEO of Planet Sports Inc.–exclusive retailer of Camaieu in the Philippines.

During the launch, models graced the catwalk in their Camaieu ensembles, which were selected and styled by Camaieu’s brand ambassadors; Katarina Rodriguez, Bianca King, and Tweetie De Leon-Gonzalez.  “The creative challenge given to the brand ambassadors was to create day to night outfits without going through an entire wardrobe change.  Reality is, most of us don’t have the luxury of time (what with traffic and all), so we need to find ways to make our day outfits work for the night.  Quite amazingly Katarina, Bianca and Tweetie showed us that with the variety of choices inside a Camaieu store it’s super easy to do”; said Camaieu marketing manager, JM Mina.

“The idea behind getting celebrities as “stylists” was to show the brand’s versatility – how easy it is to mix ‘n match articles of Camaieu clothing and accessories and come up with a look that is uniquely your own.  The possibilities are endless; the combinations you make are expressions of who you are, your personality and your style”; said brand manager, Meng Broncano.
