The Acer Swift 5 has been updated with the latest 12th Gen Intel processors, awesome displays, and improved battery life for a more powerful performance.
The laptop has been fitted with 12-core 12th Gen Intel Processor paired with Iris Xe graphics and to complete the package, dual-channel LPDDR5 memory and support for up to 2TB of PCIe gen 4 SSD storage.
At this level, you can’t get any more powerful than a i7-1260P processor (18 MB Smart Cache, 2.1 GHz Performance-core with Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 up to 4.7 GHz) that supports hybrid core architecture with Performance-core and Efficient-core.
The big. LITTLE design, where you have four performance cores and then eight efficient cores, is a first for an x86-based CPU.
This Intel Evo laptop performs well in applied tasks. The Acer Quick Access utility lets you to choose between three cooling modes: Silent, Normal, and Performance. These modes can also be switched using Fn+F hotkeys.
The Acer Swift 5 also has an astounding 2,560 x 1,600 touchscreen display fitted while the display is almost bezel-less with a screen-to-body ratio of 92.22%. The display has an aspect ratio of 16:10 for more vertical screen space for productivity.
In terms of ports and connectivity, the laptop has two Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI 2.1 port, and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports with one of them being used to power the other.
The Acer Swift 5 is a pretty powerful machine with Alder Lake P-series processors and the Iris integrated graphics. The new 28W CPUs helps with multitasking, including video editing without a discrete graphics card. The portable chassis of the Swift 5 also makes it one of the lightest 14-inch laptops.
The medium-sized touchpad is 10.5×6.5 cm and is easy to use. The Acer Swift 5 uses proprietary OceanGlass technology so the surface of the touchpad is very slippery and premium. There is no hint at all that it was made from ocean plastic collected from the ocean.
The display has IPS (In-Plane Switching) technology, WUXGA 1920 x TM 1200, high-brightness (340 nits) Acer CineCrystal supporting multi-touch and antibacterial cover glass 16:10 aspect ratio, color gamut sRGB 100% with wide viewing angle up to 170 degrees. It is also Mercury-free and environment friendly.
The battery life is excellent at 56Wh so it can last for 18 hours in “idle” mode and 10-11 hours in “active office” mode.
The Acer Swift 5 is an attractive and lightweight laptop with a sturdy design. The hi-res 14-inch display with 16:10 aspect ratio and 12th-gen Core i7 deliver strong, fast, and powerful performance. It has good Intel EVO performance, fast PCIe 4.0 x4 SSD, a pretty decent 1080p webcam, and HDMI 2.1, 2 TB4, and 2 USB-A ports.
