MANILA, Philippines—The Internet Mobile and Marketing Association of the Philippines (IMMAP) sees the digital future as a culture of openness and collaboration. To help us deal with the radical changes in the way we navigate the world, IMMAP’s upcoming Digital Congress (DigiCon) will kick off with the theme “DX: The Culture of Digital Transformation.” This year’s three-day event seeks to aid Filipino marketers in adapting to the fast-paced era of digitalization.
DigiCon 2017 will be more dynamic and interactive, highlighted by a number of engaging sessions and activities. Here are some things to look out for:
- Fully understand how technology has changed us
Think data-driven stories on social media, algorithms for music streaming, and improving urban mobility via an app. Understanding the world as it is now means knowing how technology has changed behavior and business. DigiCon 2017’s Culture Track, a new addition to the yearly event, will delve into how digitization has impacted and will impact society.
- Take notes from Digital Transformation rock star Brian Solis
The Altimeter Group Principal Analyst, award-winning author, prominent blogger, and in-demand keynote speaker will share his expertise on emerging technology. His plenary session is a perfect way to get an overview on how new technology can help you and your profession.
- Learn from a stellar roster of speakers

- Revel in a new age storytelling festival
There is nothing like getting lost in a great story. What more if it’s enhanced with technology? The Immersive Storytelling Festival will treat participants to mind-blowing performances, digital experiential art, futurist talks, and other new narrative means. The festival will also cover topics on Investigative Journalism, Performing Arts, Film, and Advertising.
- Explore the bigger and better Trade Exhibit
The Trade Exhibit will bring together key players in various spheres—from fashion and tech to marketing and start-ups. Participating brands and institutions will share how technology allows them to innovate and be at the forefront of digital transformation. Also new for this year is the Start-Up village, where up and coming businesses will showcase their solutions alongside established companies.
- Engage your senses with dynamic art installations
Artistry and technology come together at DigiCon with a number of engaging art installations. Playful examples of how technology has begun to intercept cultural touch points—such as virtual fitting rooms and interactive walls—will be on display.
- Spend Networking Night, happy hour-style
Cap off a day’s worth of learning with engaging conversations over food and drinks with industry leaders and fellow participants. Held at the end of days one and two after the closing plenary, these networking opportunities will be attended by like-minded individuals that you can work with or learn from.

Central to the DigiCon 2017 experience, the DigiCon app will be every delegate’s companion, offering convenience, information about the conference tracks and speakers, and a new way to engage with fellow delegates. Key features of the app include QR-based registration, a Personalized Conference Schedule, a new Networking Feature, Speaker Q&A function, a Newsfeed to post and get updated on conference highlights, and the Trade Exhibit Guide.
