Representatives from the media and Canon dealers sailed to Corregidor island for the first ever Canon PIXMAzing Race and the pre-launch of its new line of all-in-one PIXMA printers for the office last Saturday, February 16, 2013.

In an adventure-packed day, Canon showcased the new PIXMA models by grouping the participants into teams and embarking them on an adventure in an obstacle course to gather clues that lead to the final challenge, which required them to put the scanning and printing capabilities of the new PIXMA printers to the test.

The winners of the Canon PIXMAzing Race were given Canon PIXMA printers, IXUS digital cameras, as well as other prizes.

Partcipants were able to experience Canon’s new PIXMA line, which included the PIXMA MX897, MX527, MX457, MX927, whose wireless printing capabilities allow users to print photos and documents remotely from a PC, notebook, or mobile device. These models feature Google Cloud Print and Apple Airprint, allowing users to print files using their smartphones and tablets. The PIXMA MX927 has double-front paper casettes, thus allowing users to load two different paper sizes at the same time, plus a Dual Function Panel that lets users adjust the interface buttons to suit their needs. The PIXMA Ink Efficient E610 was also showcased at the event. This model requires less cartridge replacements, as compared to other low-capacity office printers.

At the end of the race, participants were given the opportunity to go sight seeing and print out photos of the trip using the wireless capabilities of the new PIXMA printers.
