Meet the Nektar Panorama, the first dedicated controller for Reason 6

ArchivesMeet the Nektar Panorama, the first dedicated controller for Reason 6

Nektar Technology has created the first custom controller for Propellerhead’s Reason 6. The details are still a little sketchy, but from what we’ve seen so far, it looks pretty amazing.

The Nektar Panorama is still a mystery, but updates have been rolling out lately regarding its features and design. Not only is it a dedicated controller for Reason, but it can still function as a generic MIDI controller as well, and also hints at further compatibility with other DAWs .

At a glance, it has a four octave keys with a 4×4 pad grid. It features a dedicated Mixer section with a total of 9 faders – 8 of which have  assignable panpots and buttons, and 1 master fader. One unique trait of the Panorama is the addition of one 100mm motorized ALPS fader, which is supposed to update in realtime in relation to whatever is selected in the software.

Reason 6, the newest update to the infamous music production software by Propellerhead, promises to be the ultimate package. We’ve always been fans of the program ever since version 1, but they’ve fallen behind other DAWs due to issues of compatibility and flexibility. However, the release of a dedicated controller as well as a host of new features definitely arouses our interest in Reason once again.
