Nikon updates its line of optics with a new, and affordable medium telephoto prime.
Following up on the recent announcement of their new flagship D4 camera, Nikon has also revealed their newest G-series lens, the AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.8. It’s a fast medium telephoto that’s compatible with the Nikon FX-format, and weighs approximately 350 grams. It features a Silent Wave Motor (SWM) for quiet autofocus, but what makes it even better is that it grants AF capabilities to entry level DX-format cameras (i.e. D5100 and D3100) that do not have an AF drive motor.
This AF-S NIKKOR 85mm f/1.8G is a great alternative to its faster and more expensive sibling, with a much friendlier SRP of $500 (approx. Php 21,960). It is now available for pre-order online at Amazon and B&H.
