While everyone was waiting for the big brands to announce their latest flagships, some of us, mostly geeks, were waiting patiently for the David to the big brands’ Goliath. That moment has arrived. The OnePlus 5 finally went public. This quietly powerful handset comes to us with a large 5.5-inch optic AMOLED display at a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels behind Gorilla Glass 5, the lightning-quick Snapdragon 835 chipset, and an octa-core processor ticks along at a top speed of 2.45 GHz. With up to 8 GB (!) of RAM, and 128 GB of storage, a dual 16 MP main camera setup, more software tricks than we have space to mention, and a price tag that’s impossibly low, this is just the giant killer we’ve been waiting for.
