The on-ear model of Sennheiser’s Momentum headphones have already been launched in certain parts of Asia last month, but only yesterday has the company announced its availability of the Momentum On-Ear in the Philippines.
Sennheiser’s new cans land on our shores in style. According to the president and managing director of Sennheiser Asia, Ng Chee Soon, the Philippines is the first country in Asia to be introduced to the new black and brown variants, apart from the four original shades: blue, pink, green, and ivory.
Sennheiser claims to have put the power of the Momentum Over-Ear model into the On-Ear model, despite sporting a smaller set of pads and cups. Its headband is made of stainless steel, with the top part finished in Alcantara, a special material from Italy that feels a bit like suede, but appears to be more durable. The ear pads come with an Alcantara finish as well, making them nice and cushy.
At the launch, we were able to give it a go, and we managed to observe how big it is on bass, possibly owing to its 18-Ohm transducers. It has great clarity as well, although it could honestly do a better job at noise isolation.
The headphones come with a detachable capable that has an inline remote that is optimized for use on Apple devices, with volume controls and a button that plays, pauses, and answers calls. The remote also sports an integrated microphone.
The Sennheiser Momentum On-Ear retails at an SRP of PHP 11,290.
