ING Hubs Philippines, a full-fledged global capability hub supporting operations across more than 40 countries and employing over 6,500 professionals in the Philippines, partnered with the IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) to formally turn over 150 brand-new laptops to the Department of Education (DepEd).
Showcasing the strength of public-private collaboration in advancing education in the country, the event was graced by Department of Education Secretary Juan Edgardo “Sonny” M. Angara, with IBPAP leaders: chief operating officer Celeste Ilagan, head of membership Genny Marcial, and project manager Zel Galapon. Also in attendance were ING Hubs Philippines leaders: country manager Hazel Zaide Delos Santos, head of finance services and centralized people services Wesley de Goede, chief financial officer Franz Zoehrer, and head of legal Grace Torralba, head of legal.
“The Department extends its deepest gratitude to ING Hubs Philippines for their unwavering commitment and investment in the education sector. These tools will not only help bridge the digital divide in our country but also bring to life the vision of Bagong Pilipinas—empowering our learners to thrive and lead in the future,” said Department of Education Secretary Juan Edgardo “Sonny” M. Angara.
The laptop donation is part of ING Hubs Philippines’ broader Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy, which includes a dedicated effort to uplift literacy and digital readiness across the country. This initiative follows the recent launch of the ING Orange Corner at Dr. Artemio N. Eustaquio Elementary School in Taguig—a dedicated library space designed to ignite curiosity and foster a love for reading among young learners.
“At ING, our purpose is to empower people to stay a step ahead in life and in business,” said Hazel Zaide Delos Santos, country manager of ING Hubs Philippines. “This donation is a reflection of that purpose — these laptops will help students gain access to advanced lessons and digital tools that will accelerate their learning and prepare them for a globally competitive future.”, she added.
The turnover marks another milestone in ING Hubs Philippines’ purpose-driven journey to empower communities through meaningful action. In partnership with IBPAP and DepEd, the organization continues to explore opportunities that help Filipinos stay a step ahead in life and in business. More initiatives aligned with this purpose can be expected in 2026, reinforcing ING Hubs Philippines’ commitment to driving progress and creating positive impact through strategic partnerships and innovation.
