AMA Online Education (AMA OEd) announced its partnership with business analytics leader SAS to offer analytics courses to both IT and non-IT students.
The partnership is part of AMA OEd’s goal of enriching the learning experience of its students through developing comprehensive analytical and research skills. It also opens a new path for students and teachers through the analytics training, SAS program implementation, and usage and access to data science studies.
Additionally, data analytics skills are in great demand in the business sector, as more companies utilize intelligence from predictive and other types of data analytics. According to a 2019 report by LinkedIn Indeed, there was a 29 percent increase in jobs in the field of data science.
“We at SAS see the growth of the IT Industry in the Philippines – specifically in the area of data science,” said Ryan Guadalquiver, SAS Country Manager for the Philippines, “By partnering up with AMA Online Education, a pioneer in online learning, we hope to better equip the next generation with the right skills and mindset to handle challenges that come with the ever-evolving workplace.”
The program, in cooperation with Thakral One, the exclusive reseller and implementation partner of SAS Academic Program in the country, will provide practical support and generate insights for academic use and bring a range of benefits to university staff and students. This includes additional credited analytics training and a deeper understanding of business analytics.
Students who will participate in the program will experience SAS software, including a home-use basis, giving them more time to develop an understanding of the tool. In addition, SAS will offer a wide arrange of accessible resources and studies for those completing their thesis or dissertations.
For educators, SAS will offer up-to-date modules to upgrade their analytical skills to fit today’s standards.
Under the same program, new graduates can also experience a three-month intensive bootcamp to give them deeper analytics knowledge and skills. After finishing the bootcamp, graduates will also be given preferred new employment referrals to SAS partner organizations in the fields of data science, computer analytics, and AI.
“This partnership will foster career development by providing AMA OEd students and faculty with analytic skills and real-world experience that are in great demand in the competitive marketplace,” said Dr. Amable C. Aguiluz IX, Vice Chairman of AMA Education System.
“Thanks to the vast experience of SAS in partnering with educational institutions, we are able to stay on track with improving our curriculum and processes. This partnership helps us to offer more and better programs to both our students and teachers.”
