Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation received several recognitions at the recent GREEN, or Guarantee the Restoration of the Environment and our Ecological Niche, Awards in Santa Rosa City.
Organized by the City Government of Santa Rosa together with the City Environment and Natural Resources Office, the annual awards recognize public and private organizations that contribute to environmental protection, sustainability, and climate action.
Four recognitions for environmental initiatives
During the ceremony at the City of Santa Rosa Multi-Purpose Complex in Barangay Tagapo, MMPC received the Special Award of Recognition for Environmental Sustainability and Stewardship, the Sustainable Development Award, the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Award, and the Earth Hour Advocate recognition.
The GREEN Awards highlight organizations and partners that support initiatives to reduce carbon emissions, promote responsible use of natural resources, improve energy efficiency, and strengthen environmental awareness within their communities and industries.
MMPC says the recognitions reflect its efforts to integrate sustainable practices into its manufacturing operations and move beyond basic regulatory compliance.
MMPC executives represent company at ceremony
Representing MMPC during the awarding ceremony were Manabu Higuchi, manufacturing executive vice president; Reynaldo Gabay, manufacturing senior vice president; Marfel Ancheta, safety, health and environment vice president; and Victor Vinarao, government affairs vice president.
Santa Rosa City Mayor Arlene Arcillas and city environment and natural resources officer Amor Salandanan were among the local officials involved in the awards program.
The City Government of Santa Rosa emphasized that environmental protection requires cooperation among government, businesses, organizations, and communities. It also framed sustainability as an ongoing commitment that depends on continued innovation, collaboration, and action.
Sustainability in local manufacturing
MMPC operates a 23-hectare manufacturing facility in Santa Rosa, Laguna, with an annual production capacity of 50,000 units. The plant manufactures the Mirage G4 and L300.
The company says it continues to improve its environmental performance through sustainability initiatives intended to support responsible manufacturing and the protection of natural resources.
