The country’s largest flexible workspace provider, KMC Solutions, is partnering with Modeka Art to bring original Filipino art into its flexible workspace at The Podium. Set to last for three months, this pop-up exhibit will allow KMC members and guests alike to view and appreciate the paintings that newly adorn the walls.

This collaboration is of course a forward-thinking one. In the world of commercial real estate, flexible workspaces tend to be sparely designed and decorated, so that they can accommodate a wide variety of tenants and coworkers. KMC Solutions believes that design and artistry do not have to be all or nothing — there is a middle ground that can empower both commercial tenants and the wider community.

According to Gian Reyes, the vice president of marketing and strategic partnerships at KMC Solutions, this collaboration could not have come at a better time.

“There have been many studies showing how workplace design and aesthetics can improve well-being. It was in this spirit that we decided to partner with Modeka Art to bring in their paintings from great local artists. We wanted to further enliven our already thoughtfully designed workplaces with even more art at a time people need it the most,” said Reyes.

The emphasis of KMC solutions on beautifully designed and decorated spaces have distinguished the brand in the industry, enabling it to grow to more than 55 flexible workspaces spread across 23 locations all over the Philippines, including Metro Manila, Cebu, Clark, and Iloilo.

    Empowering the art community

Tenants and guests who come in to view the paintings will adhere to KMC safety procedures. Each person must fill out an online declaration form prior to entering, wear a mask and face shield throughout their entire visit, and follow social distancing procedures. In addition to viewing the paintings, guests have the option to purchase any work of art that they like.

The ability to purchase works of art at a pop-up exhibit represents an innovation in the way art is showcased and experienced. People are accustomed to going to specific places, such as museums and galleries, to view art. The collaboration between Modeka and KMC turns this formula on its head: Together, the two partners are bringing art to you

According to Riccardo Corsini, founder and creative director of Modeka Art, patronage from KMC members and guests eager to experience this new pop-up exhibit will empower the art community.

““From the very start of Modeka Art we have always been championing new ways of experiencing and collecting art. While the industry is moving digital, being able to enjoy art in person is still challenging during these times; this tends to amplify the perception of art as an exclusive experience. The collaboration with KMC Solutions allows us to bring the artworks outside of the gallery walls, giving it new context and a new audience; this pop-up exhibition works in great synergy with the collaborative spaces of KMC Podium West Tower, building on the shared purpose of engaging, inspiring, and creating invaluable moments,” said Corsini.
