One of the biggest questions surrounding electric motorcycles isn’t about range or performance. It’s the battery.
Unlike conventional motorcycles, VinFast gives buyers two ways to own its electric motorcycles. Customers can either purchase the battery outright or subscribe to a battery service that provides access to the company’s battery-swapping network.
Both options still allow riders to charge at home, but each comes with different costs and benefits.
Here’s a closer look at how the system works.

How does the battery subscription work?
VinFast offers two ownership options.
Battery Subscription

Instead of purchasing the battery, customers buy the motorcycle and pay a monthly subscription fee of PHP439 per battery. Subscribers can use VinFast’s battery-swapping stations while still having the option to charge the battery at home.
As part of an introductory offer, customers who enroll in the subscription program on or before July 31, 2026, receive:
- Free subscription for one battery during the first 12 months
- Up to 20 complimentary battery swaps per month during the promotional period
Battery Ownership
Customers may also purchase the battery outright. This eliminates monthly subscription fees but does not include access to the battery-swapping network. Batteries can still be charged at home using compatible chargers.
Can the motorcycles be charged at home?
Yes.
All three models can be charged using a standard household electrical outlet with the supplied 400W charger. VinFast also offers a 1,000W fast charger as an optional after-sales accessory.
The batteries are removable, allowing owners to charge them separately from the motorcycle if needed.
What about battery-swapping stations?
Subscribers can replace a depleted battery at designated VinFast battery-swapping stations instead of waiting for it to recharge.
According to V-Green, VinFast’s global charging infrastructure partner, the company plans to deploy around 30,000 battery-swapping stations across the Philippines. The rollout is expected to begin through VinFast dealerships before expanding to other locations.
If I buy the battery, can I still use swapping stations?
No.
Battery swapping is available only to customers enrolled in the battery subscription program.
| Ownership Option | Home Charging | Battery Swapping | Additional Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Battery Subscription | Yes | Yes | Monthly subscription |
| Battery Ownership | Yes | No | None |
How long does charging take?
Using the standard home charger, VinFast estimates charging times of:
- Around 3 to 4 hours for one battery
- Around 6 to 8 hours for two batteries
VinFast says the batteries are interchangeable across the Evo, Feliz II, and Viper models.
Are VinFast e-motorcycles road legal?
Yes.
The motorcycles are intended for use on public roads and are expected to undergo the standard registration process with the Land Transportation Office before being operated legally.
As with conventional motorcycles, riders must comply with:
- Vehicle registration requirements
- Appropriate driver’s licence restrictions
- Helmet and other road safety regulations
Can they handle steep roads with two riders?
VinFast says the Evo, Feliz II, and Viper are designed as full-fledged electric motorcycles rather than low-powered electric bicycles.
Actual climbing performance depends on several factors, including:
- Combined rider and passenger weight
- Road gradient
- Battery charge level
- Weather
- Road conditions
Are financing options available?
Yes.
Financing packages are available through authorized VinFast dealerships. Interested buyers can inquire at their nearest dealer for available plans, requirements, and application procedures.
How can customers reserve one?

- Authorized VinFast dealerships nationwide
