Suzuki Philippines, Inc. continues to uphold its corporate social responsibility as it held relief efforts for Filipinos struck by Typhoon Lando, this year’s worst storm that wreaked havoc across Central and Northern Luzon during its five day stay within the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
Suzuki channelled their financial help through Lingkod Kapamilya Foundation, Inc. Norminio Mojica Suzuki Foundation, Inc. president and concurrent managing director of Suzuki Philippines, Inc. shared, “This is the time when our fellowmen need us most and we, in Suzuki Philippines ensure that we extend our help to those who are in need. It is time for us to pay it forward and do our share in rebuilding the lives of our countrymen affected by Typhoon Lando.”
“This help will go a long way. Other than relief operations, funds remaining from the donations will go to livelihood programs that Sagip Kapamilya develops for the typhoon victims to help them in their long term recovery. We are very thankful to Suzuki for trusting us,” Sagip Kapamilya program director Higino Dungo, Jr. said during the donation turnover ceremony.
Suzuki also provided motorists assistance through their SHARE program—a comprehensive motorcycle service which provides free check cup, tune up, oil, and oil filter to all Suzuki motorcycle owners affected by Typhoon Lando in Nueva Ecija (Cabanatatuan, Rizal, and Bongabon), Aurora (Baler and Maria), and Pangasinan (Urdaneta and San Carlos).
“We, in Japan have the same experience in catastrophes and calamities such as earthquakes and typhoons like this one. We feel the hardships of the people affected thus we make it a point to help in any way we can,” added Suzuki Philippines, Inc. president Hiroshi Suzuki.
