Lalamove safeguards consumers from fraudulent sellers through DTI’s  E-Commerce Philippine Trustmark

Lalamove, a leading on-demand delivery platform, reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its consumer safety initiatives by safeguarding consumers and empowering online businesses through the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) E-Commerce Philippine Trustmark.

The E-Commerce Philippine Trustmark is a landmark initiative that complies with Republic Act No. 1167, also known as the Internet Transactions Act (ITA). It’s a government-issued digital badge that helps consumers verify the authenticity of platforms and online sellers, strengthening trust and accountability in the digital marketplace.

As a platform that serves about 35,000 businesses daily, Lalamove is committed to remaining trustworthy, safe, and adhering to fair e-commerce practices by being a Trustmark-registered app.

“We appreciate Lalamove’s effort to become our trusted partner in supporting the initiative of the DTI to address the public’s common concern over illegitimate online businesses through the E-Commerce Philippine Trustmark. With many businesses using Lalamove in their daily operations, the Trustmark will be able to help assure the safety and security of their consumers’ transactions,” said Dir. Atty. Eryl Royce R. Nagtalon, officer-in-charge of the E-Commerce Bureau of DTI.

“One of Lalamove’s core purposes is to connect MSMEs and consumers; that’s why we are continuously doing our part to make sure that every transaction they do on our platform is safe and secure. We believe that by supporting DTI’s fight against fraudulent activities in e-commerce platforms, we can help our customers protect themselves better,” said Djon Nacario, managing director of Lalamove Philippines.

Lalamove has been proactive in educating its customers and partner drivers on safety practices, like identifying and reporting delivery mismatches. It’s also part of its continued efforts to ensure platform safety through Driver Facial Recognition and Goods Protection Promise.

Additionally, Lalamove will assist its MSME partners who are interested in applying for a Trustmark digital badge, further promoting a safe Philippine e-commerce ecosystem.

When MSMEs register for Trustmark, they will be issued a QR code and security features that will link to an online business database that consumers can check to verify if the business is legitimate.

EVAP announces 13th Electric Vehicle Summit

The Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) maintains its confidence that the country’s electric vehicle (EV) sector would continue to gear up towards more sustainable, innovative, and transformative mobility for more Filipinos.

During the pre-event press conference of the 13th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS) held in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City on August 27th, EVAP president Edmund Araga said he is expecting EV adoption in the country to further rise amid supportive government policies, consistent volatility in petrol costs, and the entry of more players. “It is high time to shift to EV. There are currently more choices when it comes to EV models and brands,” he said.

Actual sales of 4-wheeled EVs almost tripled in 2024 to 3,880 units from 1,028 units sold in 2023—a 277.5 percent spike, based on EV stakeholders’ submission compiled and released by the Department of Energy (DOE) and EVAP. Of the three categories of EVs, battery electric vehicles (BEVs) accounted for about 75 percent, while hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) comprised about 23 percent and plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs) was at about 2 percent.

For the 2- and 3-wheeled EVs, sales rocketed by 25,156 percent to 43,441 units in 2024 from just 172 in 2023. Of those units, almost 93 percent were Category L2 or 2-wheeled EVs. Category L1 or lower power 2-wheel EVs accounted for almost 7 percent, while category L5 or 3-wheeled motor EVs comprised of 0.28 percent.

    Growing network of charging stations

The accelerating sales of EVs is logically complemented by a growing network of EV charging stations in at least key cities across the nation. The Comprehensive Roadmap for the Electric Vehicle Industry (CREVI) aims to deploy 7,300 EV charging stations (EVCS) nationwide by 2028, from about 300 in 2023 and 992 so far this year (2025).

Industry organizations and analysts are confident that this short-term goal could still be attained with the right interventions and policies. CREVI policies are in place to meet a target of installing 20,400 EVCS by 2040, when the volume of EVs nationwide is expected to grow to at least 2.5 million.

Based on data from the DOE, about 12 percent of public charging stations are in malls—SM Supermalls have the most at 69, followed by Ayala Malls with 31, Megaworld Lifestyle Malls with 5, and Robinsons Malls with 4. Most of these are in Metro Manila. Outside the capital region, there are 14 public charging stations in Cebu City, 7 in Davao, and at least one in the Legazpi, Naga, and Sorsogon in the Bicol region. The rest are spread across key cities nationwide.

“The robust EV sector is hoping that the national government would remain on track to achieving improvement in necessary infrastructure, from installing more EVCS nationwide to expanding local EV manufacturing and assembly and supporting development of innovative technologies, particularly in battery. This way, we could ensure a continuous speed in EV adoption among Filipinos,” Araga said.

    Promising measures that drive growth

In September 2024, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr inaugurated the first lithium battery factory in the country, located in Tarlac. StB Giga Factory Inc manufactures advanced lithium iron phosphate batteries that are used primarily in renewable energy and EV sectors. It positioned PH as a clean energy storage manufacturer not just in the region but also in the world and is set to produce batteries that could power up to 18,000 EVs annually when it hits full capacity in 2030.

In June this year, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) lodged for approval the new Electric Vehicle Incentive Strategy (EVIS). Upon approval by the Fiscal Incentives Review Board (FIRB), the new strategy could generate up to PHP11.4 trillion in economic output and create up to 680,000 local jobs involved in EV assembly, battery production, EVCS installation, and maintenance services. EVIS is still anchored on the Electric Vehicle Development Act (EVIDA) that has been fueling the growth of EVs since the law was implemented in 2022.

“The EV sector is unstoppable. There are more productive and insightful discussions plus a grand showcase of the latest innovations, industry collaborations, and new EV models coming at this year’s PEVS, with the theme ‘Charge Ahead, Ignite the EVolution.’ We invite all stakeholders and the general public to join us from October 23 to 25 at the SMX Convention Center Manila. Don’t get left behind the accelerating EV revolution,” Araga concluded.

Driving through history: Nissan’s journey in the Philippines

As the country celebrates History Month in August, Nissan Philippines looks back at its decades-long journey with Filipino motorists. From its early presence under the Datsun name to the innovative models seen on today’s roads, Nissan has long been part of the evolving Filipino driving experience.

    Beginnings in the 1960s

Nissan entered the Philippines in the 1960s, with its first vehicles officially being sold under the Datsun brand. Vehicles like the Datsun 180B and Cedric 200C helped carve a space for the brand in the competitive passenger car market, while pickups like the Datsun 1600 became well-regarded for blending rugged utility with car-like features.

These early offerings showcased Nissan’s versatility, with a lineup that included both passenger cars and light trucks. This combination allowed the brand to cater to Filipino drivers seeking dependable transportation for everyday needs as well as vehicles capable of handling heavier tasks.

    Growth and Local Manufacturing

By the 1980s, Nissan had begun assembling vehicles in the Philippines under government-led programs, enabling it to meet rising local demand while supporting jobs and skills development in the automotive industry.

Throughout the years, Nissan introduced nameplates that became staples of Filipino driving, with models like the Patrol and Frontier becoming trusted for both work and leisure, known for their performance in tough conditions. The Nissan Sentra, in particular, became a go-to sedan during the decade, known for its comfort, ease of use, and everyday reliability.

Dennis’s Nissan Sentra, brought back to its original condition.

Dennis Carpio, who once owned a 1988 Nissan Sentra, purchased it from his neighbor and restored it to its original showroom condition. Having previously owned a newer Sentra, he was drawn to the 1988 model for its rarity on today’s roads. “For me, the durability of the vehicle really stands out,” says Dennis. “Despite its age, the engine is still very easy to maintain and the body panels feel very solid.”

    A New Millennium for Nissan

The early 2000s ushered in an era of growth and resurgence for Nissan in the Philippines, where the brand launched models that would define the decade, chief among them being the Nissan X-Trail in 2003. As Nissan’s first compact crossover SUV in the Philippines, the X-Trail instantly resonated with Filipino drivers looking for a vehicle that combined versatility, performance, and comfort.

Nicky’s Nissan X-Trail, carrying memories from his childhood.

For Nicky Tuason, the owner of a 2006 X-Trail, the vehicle represents a bridge between past and present. He received his X-Trail as a hand-me-down from his grandparents. The X-Trail became their vehicle of choice due to the features and power it had for its size.

With a build inspired by the early 2000s, the car has become a homage to his late grandfather, who kept the vehicle in good condition throughout the years. “It’s the last car from my childhood. It saw me grow up and was always there growing up alongside me,” Nicky says. “And instead of getting a new car, I’d rather make this car be as good as a modern car. For its age, it can still go head-to-head with a modern one.”

The X-Trail quickly became a sales success. Within the first week of its local debut, over 100 units were sold, and by 2004 and 2005, the X-Trail had made up over half of Nissan’s sales in the country.

    Establishment of Nissan Philippines, Inc.

In 2013, the establishment of Nissan Philippines, Inc. (NPI) marked a new era of growth and innovation. The brand expanded its lineup to include globally recognized nameplates such as the Terra and notably, the Navara, which became one of Nissan’s most significant milestones. Debuting with a tough yet smart philosophy, the 12th-generation Navara combined rugged durability with advanced technology, providing both aesthetic appeal and functional innovation.

For Den Paulino, the Navara has always been a reliable companion for her and her family. “We chose the Nissan Navara because it stood out in terms of comfort and safety for our kids. The 360-degree camera, six airbags, and intelligent safety features made it an easy choice for our family.”

The Navara’s introduction was also highlighted by its multi-link coil suspension that delivered unmatched comfort and ride quality to the pickup segment, with Den adding that “pickups are known for having bumpy rides but surprisingly, the Navara is very comfortable, almost like driving a sedan. I was intimidated at first because of its size but it’s easy to maneuver and light to steer for a pickup.”

Over the years, the Navara has earned its place as a trusted partner for countless Filipino families, accompanying them through milestones, everyday journeys, and adventures. “It is our family car and it brought us to a lot of milestones, especially the kids. We did a lot of firsts with our Navara. I am proud to own an efficient and reliable vehicle that can take us anywhere, anytime without compromise,” says Den.

    The Journey Continues

In recent years, Nissan has continued to break new ground in the Philippines, introducing electrified mobility and delivering innovative vehicles across segments. In 2021, it launched one of the country’s first mass-market EVs with the LEAF, followed in 2022 by the Kicks e-POWER, which delivers an EV driving experience without the need to plug in. Nissan also recently introduced the All-New Patrol, continuing the legacy of its iconic flagship SUV.

The All-New Patrol, showcasing Nissan’s drive to keep innovating for the future.

“From our earliest nameplates to today’s tech-driven lineup, our history in the Philippines has been one of constant evolution,” says Nissan Philippines president Masao Tsutsumi. “As we celebrate Philippine History Month, we also celebrate the many roads we have traveled together, and the many more still to come.”

Today, Nissan remains focused on enhancing the customer experience through innovation, technology, and a strong network of partners and dealers nationwide. From past icons to future-forward models, Nissan is proud to continue being part of every Filipino’s journey.

    Xiaomi TV A 55 2026 review

I already have TVs in the living and family areas, so when the Xiaomi TV A 55 2026 came, I placed it in my bedroom. Marketed with the tagline “Smart living, immersive viewing”, this TV is more than just a crisp 4K panel. It’s a gateway to effortless streaming and everyday entertainment.

    Design 4 / 5

At first, a 55-inch panel felt like it might overwhelm my room, but it turned out to be just the right size. Positioned on a built-in wall desk in front of a large window, the TV feels integrated into the space, part of my cozy retreat at night rather than something oversized or intrusive.

The ultra-thin bezel and metal finish give it a premium look that feels more expensive than it is. In daylight, with natural light streaming around it, the TV looks understated; at night, with the curtains drawn, the screen becomes the room’s centerpiece.

I opted to keep it on the double stand setup instead of wall-mounting. The wide stands are solid and stable, keeping the TV steady even when I shift things on the desk. Around the back, Xiaomi kept the design clean and minimal, with ports arranged neatly to the side: three HDMI (one with Game Boost), a USB 2.0, Ethernet, composite AV-in, optical out, and antenna input. This makes plugging in accessories easy without messing up the tidy look.

Although the TV weighs only about 13kg, its 1.2-meter width makes it awkward to move alone. Carrying it into position felt manageable, but I’d recommend an extra pair of hands to make setup safer and smoother.

    Hardware 4 / 5

The 55-inch 4K UHD HDR display is where the Xiaomi TV A 55 2025 really proves itself. Filmmaker Mode is a revelation! Switching it on strips away the artificial smoothing and overly vivid colors TVs usually apply by default. What you get instead is a viewing experience that looks closer to how the creators intended.

On Netflix, Wednesday’s gothic aesthetic, with its shadowy interiors, candlelit halls, and moonlit forest scenes, came through with striking clarity. The moody atmosphere was preserved without being over-brightened. On Prime Video, the lush visuals of Butterfly felt vibrant yet natural, with color and motion rendered faithfully thanks to Filmmaker Mode’s careful tone mapping. These two series highlighted how well the panel can handle both dark, detail-heavy visuals and rich, expressive cinematography.

Under the hood, a quad-core Cortex-A55 processor and Mali G52 GPU, backed by 2GB of RAM and 8GB of storage, handle the workload. For streaming, it is sufficient. YouTube and Netflix ran smoothly once loaded, but launching apps felt sluggish at times.

Audio is powered by dual 10W speakers, enhanced with Dolby Audio™, DTS:X, and DTS Virtual:X. Dialogue came through clearly, and YouTube concerts carried enough depth to feel immersive. While the built-in sound will not replace a subwoofer or surround system, it delivers more than enough for casual viewing in my bedroom setup.

    User Experience 3.5 / 5

The Google TV interface is neat and well-organized, pulling together YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV, and more in one place. Logging into my Google account synced watchlists quickly, and within days the home screen was recommending shows that matched my preferences.

Where the experience falters is in responsiveness. Launching apps feels a bit sluggish, and the “Hey Google” voice assistant sometimes takes a while to respond or requires repeating commands. It works, but it is not as seamless as I had hoped.

On the brighter side, casting was smooth and reliable. Google Cast, Miracast, and Apple AirPlay all worked effortlessly, whether for pushing Spotify playlists or mirroring videos from my phone.

The eye-care display deserves mention, since after long nights of watching, I felt noticeably less eye strain.

I also appreciate the Xiaomi TV+ channels, which provide free live content that works perfectly for background viewing when I don’t feel like browsing.

    Xiaomi TV A 55 2026

    Value  4 / 5

Xiaomi has always positioned itself as the brand for value-conscious consumers, and the TV A 55 2026 continues that tradition. Priced at PHP19,699, you get a 55-inch 4K HDR display, Dolby and DTS audio, Filmmaker Mode, Google TV with “Hey Google” voice control, seamless casting, and Xiaomi TV+ channels.

There are compromises: the 2GB of RAM and 8GB of storage mean it isn’t designed for heavy multitasking, and the speakers, while solid, don’t deliver cinema-level bass. But these limitations are easy to accept given what it offers at this price point.

For families, it’s a strong and affordable primary TV. For younger buyers, it’s a first step into premium smart features. And for me, as a personal screen in my bedroom, it feels like a small luxury that has changed the way I end my day.

    Bottomline

The Xiaomi TV A 55 2026 is not pretending to be a flagship OLED. Instead, it focuses on delivering the essentials—and delivering them well. The overall experience and value it offers make it easy to recommend this to anyone seeking smart living and immersive viewing without overspending.

Mercedes-Benz PH unveils the G 580 with EQ Technology

Mercedes-Benz Philippines proudly unveils the groundbreaking arrival of the new G 580 with EQ Technology, the first-ever all-electric G-Class. This bold evolution marks a historic milestone, seamlessly blending the legendary character and off-road prowess of the G-Class with the cutting-edge innovation of electric mobility.

The G 580 with EQ Technology seamlessly fuses the legendary toughness of the G-Class with the innovation of Mercedes-Benz’s advanced electric drivetrain. Retaining its iconic off-road dominance, this fully electric model delivers an exhilarating yet silent driving experience — a true evolution that stays faithful to the G-Class legacy. More than just a technological milestone, the G 580 embodies Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to sustainable luxury, combining zero-emission mobility with uncompromising performance and presence.

    G 580

    Electric Mobility, G-Class Power

At the heart of the G 580 with EQ Technology is a state-of-the-art electric powertrain built around a high-voltage modular lithium-ion battery. Comprising 216 cells across 12 modules, the battery offers a usable energy capacity of up to 116kWh — all while weighing just 680kg. This advanced setup delivers an impressive all-electric range of up to 473km (WLTP), ensuring a confident, long-distance driving experience that combines the unmistakable power of the G-Class with the efficiency and innovation of electric mobility.

    Innovation Meets Intuition Inside

Inside, the G 580 with EQ Technology features dual 12.3-inch displays, one as a fully digital, customizable instrument cluster, and the other as a central touchscreen for infotainment. Both are powered by the intuitive Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) system, offering advanced voice control, seamless wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and an immersive Burmester 3D surround sound system.

This new-generation G-Class doesn’t just meet expectations, it redefines them. Whether navigating city streets or conquering rugged terrain, the G 580 is engineered for agility, traction, and control in every environment, delivering a driving experience that’s as refined as it is capable.

The Off-Road Cockpit: Innovation Where It Matters Most

Engineered for extreme terrain, the G 580 with EQ Technology is equipped with Torque Vectoring, allowing precise distribution of torque to each individual wheel. This ensures optimal grip and stability, especially during tight cornering or while navigating uneven, off-road surfaces.

Taking capability to new heights, the G 580 introduces groundbreaking features such as G-STEERING, which enhances agility by turning the wheels at different speeds — enabling anything from subtle maneuvering to controlled oversteer in complex terrain. Meanwhile, G-TURN allows the vehicle to rotate in place up to 720°, a revolutionary function designed for tight off-road situations on loose or slippery ground.

Adding to the immersive experience is G-ROAR, which gives the all-electric G-Class a bold, signature sound presence both inside and out. And for added safety, the Acoustic Vehicle Alert System (AVAS) comes standard, ensuring the vehicle remains audible to pedestrians and cyclists when G-ROAR is disabled.

    Distinctive AMG Line Styling

Elevating its commanding presence, the G 580 with EQ Technology comes equipped with the AMG Line package — infusing the iconic G-Class silhouette with a bold touch of sporty sophistication. Exterior highlights include brake callipers with Mercedes-Benz lettering, a striking radiator grille in silver chrome, and a silver chrome bumper insert that adds refined contrast and visual impact.

Inside, exclusive black AMG floor mats underscore the cabin’s premium feel, while the vehicle’s muscular stance is perfected by 50.8cm (20-inch) AMG 10-spoke light-alloy wheels — a true statement of performance and design.

Luxury That Moves with the Times

While the G 580 pioneers new ground with its advanced electric powertrain, it remains deeply rooted in the timeless luxury and iconic design that define the G-Class. The refined and spacious cabin seamlessly blends premium materials with intuitive digital interfaces and cutting-edge connectivity features, ensuring that every journey, whether navigating city streets or tackling rugged terrain, is nothing short of a first-class experience.

The Pokémon Company is pleased to announce the latest news about the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 software title Pokémon Legends: Z-A and the Nintendo Switch 2 software title Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.

The Mega Evolution of the Flycatcher Pokémon Victreebel—Mega Victreebel—appears in Pokémon Legends: Z-A! Please forward to Victreebel’s Mega-Evolved Form; its body gets swollen and full of acid that looks ready to burst out at any moment!

To know more about the Mega Victreebel from Pokémon Legends: Z-A, please go to the official Pokémon YouTube channel and check the video, “Mega Victreebel Raises a Stink! | Pokémon Legends: Z-A” at https://youtu.be/ala25Wsplak

    Pokemon

Its body has swollen as a result of Mega Evolution. Even the leaves on top of its head have grown bigger.

It flaps the leaves on its sides and moves its large body by bouncing around.

It opens its large mouth to let loose a Sludge Bomb. It looks more like a Victreebel when it has deflated.

To move around, it flaps the leaves on its sides and bounces its large body. It has so much acid that even closing its mouth tight isn’t enough to hold it in, so it contains the acid by wrapping its own vines around its throat.

    Mega Victreebel’s Unique Features

A large amount of acid is stockpiled inside its body, which has grown larger as a result of Mega Evolution.

    Mega Victreebel

    Category: Flycatcher Pokémon

    Type: Grass/Poison

    Height: 14’9″ (4.5 m)

    Weight: 276.7 lbs. (125.5 kg)

    • It’s got so much acid that it’s on the verge of spitting it up!
    • It wraps its own vines around its throat to keep the acid from spilling out.

The energy of Mega Evolution has produced such a large amount of acid within its body that it always has to wrap up its own throat! As a result, it doesn’t keep its mouth open while waiting for prey like Victreebel does. Instead, it actively goes after prey to take it down in a distinctively aggressive style. Its massive body can deliver tackles that are packed with destructive force!

    • It’s not just the volume that’s overwhelming—its acid gives off a powerfully sweet scent and can even melt through steel!

When all that acid has matured, it smells sweet enough to make others dizzy. Mega Victreebel waves the leaves on top of its head to waft the scent toward opponents, immobilizing them and giving it an edge in battle. The acid’s melting capabilities are also powered up! It can even melt through concrete or steel, so Trainers who use Mega Victreebel in battle will need to keep that in mind.

    Mega Victreebel’s Special Video

There have been rumors about a mysteriously sweet scent coming from a certain building. Check out this found footage exploring the building’s darkened halls—parts of which seem to have been melted. What truths about Mega Victreebel and its Trainer will spill out by the end?
