ArchivesAsus Transformer Book announced, proper Ivy Bridge powered Windows 8 tablet

If there’s one thing Asus didn’t run out of today during their COMPUTEX presscon, it’s Transformers. Aside from announcing the absolutely huge Transformer AIO earlier today, the company also showed their Transformer Book, touted as the world’s first convertible notebook. With the keyboard attached it acts like a regular notebook, take the display out, and the device transforms into a Windows 8 tablet.

The device is aimed at users who want a tablet for fun and a notebook for work. Though one could argue that their current Transformer line-up can already do that, this particular device is one of the first to use Windows 8, as well as use Intel Ivy Bridge processors as well as have discrete graphics, SSD and HDD storage.
