JBL turns 80, launches biggest lineup yet

Eight decades in, JBL still sounds like it has something to prove. The brand that started in 1946 with a single-minded focus on clear, powerful audio has grown into one of the most recognizable names in sound — and it’s celebrating its 80th anniversary by dropping one of its most expansive Philippine lineups to date.

The new products span karaoke systems, portable speakers, over-ear and in-ear headphones, and gaming headsets, all anchored by a consistent push toward smarter, more connected audio. JBL Philippines officially unveiled the full lineup at Clark Marriott Hotel in Pampanga on May 15, 2026.

Karaoke Gets a Mic You Can Carry in Your Pocket

The most distinctive additions to the lineup are JBL’s new EasySing products, which bring AI-powered karaoke to a surprisingly compact form factor.

The JBL EasySing Mic Mini Duo and EasySing Mic Mini are pocket-sized wireless mics that can turn compatible JBL portable speakers and PartyBox models into instant karaoke setups. Their standout feature is real-time AI Vocal Removal, letting users strip vocals from any streaming track — by 25%, 50%, or fully — with a single press. That means no waiting for official instrumental or karaoke versions to appear. Both mics support Voice Boost for clearer high notes, natural reverb, AI noise suppression, and up to 6 hours of playtime. A USB-C dongle handles the wireless connection, and the mics can be used handheld, clipped to clothing, or attached to a ring handle. Coming soon. 

For bigger group sing-alongs, the JBL EasySing Mics bring the same AI vocal removal into a dedicated plug-and-sing setup compatible with PartyBox speakers. These wireless mics are built for duets and parties, with built-in vocal tuning, adjustable backing vocal levels, and up to 10 hours of playtime. Available now.

The JBL PartyBox Encore 2 Plus and PartyBox On-The-Go 2 Plus go a step further by baking AI Vocal Removal directly into the speakers themselves. Portable Speakers: From Pocket-Sized to Party-Ready

The JBL Go 5 is the grab-and-go option: compact, waterproof, dustproof, and drop-proof, with a refreshed design that adds ambient edge lighting, visual cues, and AirTouch stereo pairing (tap two speakers together to link them). It supports Auracast™ connectivity and gets up to 10 hours of battery life. Available now at P2,899.

The JBL Xtreme 5 is the step up for listeners who want more output. It features a redesigned acoustic system, AI Sound Boost to reduce distortion at high volumes, SmartEQ Mode for switching between music and speech optimization, ambient lighting, lossless audio, a built-in power bank, and up to 28 hours of playtime. For full-scale celebrations, the JBL PartyBox 130 is built to fill a room. Its redesigned hexagonal profile and updated top panel give it a sharper look, while JBL Legendary Sound and AI Sound Boost keep audio clear even at high volumes. Headphones and Earbuds: More Styles, More Options

The JBL Live Series gets a full refresh across both headphones and earbuds.

The Live 680NC (on-ear) and Live 780NC (over-ear) get a redesigned look with sleeker silhouettes, metallic accents, metal hinges, and soft-touch materials. Both are available in Black, Blue, White, Beige, Green, Purple, and Orange. On the audio side, they deliver JBL Signature Sound, Hi-Res Audio, Adaptive Noise Cancelling 2.0, Spatial Sound, and up to 80 hours of battery life. Available now at P7,999 and P11,999, respectively.

The JBL Live 4 series covers three earbud wearing styles: Buds, Beam, and Flex, ranging from a secure in-ear seal to a more open, relaxed fit. Available in Black, Blue, Silver, Champagne, Green, Purple, and Orange, the series offers six-mic AI-enhanced calling, Smart Charging Case™ controls, Spatial Sound, and improved noise cancellation. The Tune Series gets four new entries: Tune 530BT, Tune 730BT, Tune 680NC, and Tune 780NC. Across on-ear and over-ear designs, the lineup delivers JBL Pure Bass Sound, Bluetooth 6.0, multi-point pairing, and up to 76 hours of battery life. The 680NC and 780NC add Adaptive Noise Cancelling and Spatial Sound. Prices range from P3,499 to P7,999.

Gaming Headsets Built to Last

JBL’s Quantum Series adds three new headsets: the Quantum 250, Quantum 650, and flagship Quantum 950. All three are engineered for immersive spatial audio, low-latency connectivity, and precise in-game awareness across platforms, with JBL Quantum Spatial Sound and QuantumENGINE software customization.

A notable design choice is the modular build: the microphone, ear cushions, cable, and hammock headband are all user-replaceable, so the headset can be maintained and upgraded over time rather than replaced outright. The Quantum 250 starts at P3,999, the Quantum 650 at P9,199, and the Quantum 950 at P21,999. All available now.

The Audio Playground: A Full Day in Clark

JBL also marked the milestone with the JBL Audio Playground on May 16 at Clark Global City, a full-day community event spanning music, gaming, and movement.

The day kicked off with a fun run, followed by booth flash sales and a Mobile Legends tournament using the JBL Quantum 650. DJ workshops and live sets by DJ Ian Sndrz, dance workshops by UPeepz, and skate park showcases ran throughout the afternoon.

The night closed with a concert featuring Ben&Ben, HORI7ON, Dionela, Al James, and G22.
