PLDT Enterprise, the B2B arm of the country’s leading ICT and digital services provider, kicks off the 2018 MVP Bossing Awards. This year, nominations are open to the public, a first since the Awards started in 2009.
Initiated by PLDT SME Nation, the MVP Bossing Awards is now on its 8th year and has recognized over 80 iconic business leaders throughout its history. Most recently, Tony Tan Caktiong, Chairman and Founder of Jollibee Foods Corporation was named 2016 Grand Bossing. Alongside him were Andok’s Litson Corporation CEO Hon. Leonardo Javier Jr., Astoria Hotels and Resorts President Jeffrey Ng, Double Dragon Properties Inc. Chairman and CEO Injap Sia, Eng Bee Tin Chinese Deli President Gerry Chua, Architect and Designer Kenneth Cobonpue, Mercury Group of Companies President Vivian Azcona, and Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Inc. President and CEO Dennis Uy.
As in years past, the MVP Bossing Awards will pay tribute to the Filipino entrepreneurial spirit, celebrating local business owners and leaders who have achieved success, with the aim of motivating others to pursue their dreams and aspirations.
“In line with PLDT’s 90th anniversary, we continue our celebration of leadership and excellence in business at the 2018 MVP Bossing Awards. These men and women are proof that a solid work ethic and a fearless attitude in facing challenges are the defining characteristics of a great leader. We’re looking for the game changers, the pioneers, those who were not—and are not—afraid of pushing the frontiers of business,” said SVP and Head of PLDT and Smart Enterprise Business Groups Jovy Hernandez.
Nominations for the MVP Bossing Awards 2018 are open until August 31, 2018, after which deliberations will be carried out by a panel of judges, which includes PLDT’s Chairman and CEO Manny V. Pangilinan, PLDT Chief Revenue Officer and ePLDT President & CEO Eric R. Alberto, other key executives from PLDT, and select MVP Bossing awardees from previous years. Winners must embody integrity, commitment to excellence, and fearlessness in driving business success in their industries.
The Awards will retain the major elements of its previous format, with one Grand Bossing selected from a roster of 10 to12 MVP Bossing awardees. A highlight of this year’s Awards is the addition of two special awards that will be given to a corporation for Excellence in Corporate Social Responsibility and to an LGU for Excellence in Local Government—all of whom will be recognized at the MVP Bossing Awards night on October 25.
