Mobile Legends Pro League Philippines returns for Season 5

The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) is back for its fifth season.

The top eight teams from the MPL season 4 will make a return along with two teams from the open tournament.

Teams competing in the new season are season four champions Sunsparks, runner-up Onic PH, SGD Omega, Execration, Bren Esports, Geek Fam, Blacklist International (former EVOS PH), STI (former Ownage), and qualifier winners GOSU, and BSB.

Fans are up for an exciting new season after a chaotic roster shuffle sees former teammates at the opposing side and previous rivals on the same side.

The new season starts February 29 and will run all weekends until April 5, 2020. The first weekend matches will be played from February 29 to March 1, while succeeding games will be played from Friday to Sunday.

The games will be live-streamed on Facebook and Youtube every 6 PM. Fans who want to see the players in action can also watch the matches live at Illumination Studio in Makati.

After the six weeks of regular-season action, the top eight teams will advance to the playoffs from May 2 to 3, to play for the lion’s share of the USD 100,000 prize pool. The grand finals will be played at the Le Pavillon Metropolitan Park in Pasay City.

The MPL-PH Season 5 champions will receive USD 25,000 with the grand finals MVP grabbing an additional USD 1,000. Second place will net the team USD 13,000 way above the USD 6,000 for the third place. Fourth place will earn USD 4,000, 5^th-6^th teams will win USD 2,000 each, and 7^th-8^th will take home USD 1,000 each. Another USD 45,000 is distributed for the regular season.
