Samsung Electronics Philippines Corporation is starting the year strong with the release of the new Samsung Galaxy A8 and A8+.

The newest iterations of this line of Galaxy smartphones sport a dual front camera setup, the brand’s Infinity Display, IP68-rated water- and dust-resistant body, and an ergonomic design that commands attention.

As the first Samsung smartphones to have dual front cameras, the Galaxy A8 and A8+ enable users to capture moments in the best quality possible. The primary is a 16 MP shooter with f/1.9 aperture while the secondary is an 8 MP camera. This combination allows users to capture photos with high quality, effortless wide-angled shots, and bokeh effect-injected portraits. On top of these, the phones also come with an advanced Live Focus feature with adjustable blur.

Its 16 MP f1.7 rear camera, on the other hand, does not lose out when it comes to image quality. It renders sharp and detailed photos even in low-light condition.

The Galaxy A8 is equipped with a 5.6-inch FHD+, super AMOLED screen, while the A8+ comes with a slightly larger 6-inch FHD+ super AMOLED display. Both versions flaunt Samsung’s very own Infinity Display with an 18:9 display ratio giving you an immersive viewing experience in the palm of your hand.

Powering the Galaxy A8 and A8+ are octa-core processors that clock in at 1.6 GHz. Working in tandem with its processors are 4 GB of RAM for the A8 and 6 GB for the A8+. The phones also sport huge battery capacities, with the A8 built with a 3000 mAh battery and the A8+ with a 3500 mAh juice pack. Meanwhile, both phones run Android 7.1.1 Nougat, are LTE-enabled, and have dual-SIM slots.

The phones are equipped with Face Recognition for added security and quick access, along with a Bixby interface meant to handle tasks intelligently and a more convenient user experience overall.

Actress Yassi Pressman was introduced as the face of the Samsung Galaxy A8 and A8+.

The Galaxy A8 and A8+, which are initially available in the country in gold and black, come with a suggested retail price of PHP 26,990  and PHP 32,990, respectively. The phones will be available starting January 27, 2018.
