Synology announces DP7200, the newest addition to its ActiveProtect data protection lineup for organizations looking to protect diverse workloads, including servers, virtual machines, databases, and Microsoft 365 data across multiple office locations, remote offices, or branch offices.
“With ActiveProtect, our vision is to create a unified solution by integrating both hardware and software capabilities for businesses of all sizes looking to streamline data protection,” explained Jia-Yu Liu, executive vice president at Synology. “As businesses scale across multiple locations, data tends to be fragmented and scattered across regions, making DP7200 the ideal solution for deployment at the main office, remote office, or as a new addition for data centers.”
As part of the ActiveProtect data protection lineup, the DP7200 serves as a core management server or standalone backup appliance that comes with a built-in operating system called ActiveProtect Manager. With an 84 TB capacity, DP7200’s key features include:
- Data visibility: Consolidate and view up to 150,000 workloads and monitor 2,500 sites via a single pane of glass, including all backups, backup copies, and archived data across your backup infrastructure.

- Secure your data against the threat of ransomware: Protect against unforeseen disasters such as ransomware attacks with access controls, immutability, and data isolation. Prevent unauthorized personnel from accessing your data by setting up MFA via Active Directory, LDAP, and SAML 2.0. Preserve clean copies of your data so that an untainted copy is always available for recovery.
- Long-term data retention is no longer a challenge: DP7200 enables long-term backup storage both on-premises and in the cloud, maximizing efficiency without occupying excess space through data deduplication, ensuring compliance and business continuity.
DP7200 is available globally via Synology’s distributor and partner network. For more information, visit https://sy .to/ap
