Remember that Nexus 10 tablet that leaked a few days ago? Well, Google has finally made that particular piece of hardware official. The leak was pretty accurate – the device is made by Samsung and will have a 10.1-inch, 2,560×1,500 resolution display which gives the device a pixel density of 300 ppi. On the inside, it’ll sport a Samsung made, 1.7GHz Samsung Exynos processor paired with 2GB of RAM. Other hardware features include NFC, WiFi, Bluetooth and a 5-megapixel rear camera. El Goog is promising that users will have about 9 hours of usable battery life on this thing, which is pretty awesome. Since this is a Nexus device, it will ship with the latest Android version, Android 4.2.

What’s striking about the Nexus 10 tablet is the price – Google will be asking $399 for the 16GB version, which if you’re not aware, is $100 less than Apple’s current iPad. The 32GB version is priced at $499. Yes, it seems that Google is prepared to wage a price war with Apple when it comes to tablets. Apple has fundamentally cornered the 10-inch tablet market with their iPad but it seems that Google is prepared to do anything to cut into Apple’s tablet market share. Customers in U.S., U.K., Australia, France, Germany, Spain, Canada and Japan will have first dibs on November 13.
