Nikon Philippines launched its local chapter of Nikon Club last October 8 at the Tao Corporate Center in Makati.

Nikon Club PH is the official photography club of Nikon Philippines which has recognized chapters all over the world.

To celebrate the occasion, veteran photographers and Nikon pros Ted Madamba, George Tapan and Raymond Cruz shared tips and secrets on taking great photos to the audience.

Interested photographers can apply for a two-year membership by paying a fee of PHP 1000. However, those who attended and signed up automatically get lifetime memberships.

In the event, Nikon also debuted its new DSLR camera, the D3400 which has a 24.2-megapixel DXI sensor which is derived from the higher-tiered D7200.

The camera’s ISO setting ranges from 100 to 25,600, and is able to shoot an average of 1200 shots per charge of its standard 1230 mAh battery pack.

The camera also supports Nikon’s SnapBridge App which syncs the DSLR to the user’s smartphone and automatically sends two-megapixel copies of photos taken with the date, time and location of their capture.

Four new Nikkor lenses were also launched with the camera: the AF-P DX 18-55 mm, 70-300 mm and their VR counterparts. The “AF-P” stands for “Autofocus Pulse” which is a brand new autofocus motor that is quieter and more precise—perfect for taking videos.
