After the release of LG G4, news have been circulating that on 2016, LG will release LG G5 that enables iris scanning technology. Because of this innovation, Samsung and Apple’s fingerprint scanner is now surpassed.
Adding Iris scanning technology to the LG G5 boosts its capability to ensure security to its users especially during mobile transactions.
During a technology event in Korea, LG tested its smartphone retina scanner. The front camera of the phone, aside from being an actual camera, can now scan the owner’s iris “then matching the image to the biometric data stored and maintained by Korean iris source biometrics tech company, Irience.” LG’s demo was a huge success that the Industrial Bank of Korea invested to develop this kind of technology.
“LG is currently working with Irience to integrate the same technology in the LG G5, smoothing its algorithms to increase retinal recognition range from 30cm to 50cm.”
Aside from added security, users may now unlock their LG G5 just by looking at it.
As of now their is no exact date of LG G5’s release but it is said to be release on the first or second quarter of 2016.
