Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) entertained motoring fanatics and devotees in the Visayas area as they brought their beloved lineup of powerful, reliable, and fuel-efficient vehicles for the Isuzu World on Wheels motor show.
The event was held last October 16 to 17 2014 at the Oakridge Pavilion on A.S. Fortuna Street in Banilad, Cebu City. According to IPC President Nobuo Izumina, “Cebu has always been, and remains to be, one of Isuzu Philippines Corporation’s strongest markets. This is hardly surprising as the place’s mix of highly urbanized areas and breathtaking agricultural and seaside landscape makes it the perfect setting for Isuzu vehicles, which are well-equipped to serve both leisure and utility purposes. It is only fitting that we at IPC continue to provide Cebuanos the best that the Isuzu brand can offer, and at present, this means introducing to them the All-New mu-X.”
On showcase was the Isuzu Crosswind XT Limited Edition, this one sporting refreshed designs in the radiator grille and rear spoiler with integrated LED lamp, 3.5-inch digital LCD entertainment system, and chromed fog lamps; IPC’s best-selling D-MAX X-series pickup which comes in either an automatic or manual version; and various commercial vehicles such as the i-VAN, D-MAX cab and chassis with passenger van body, NHR Flexiqube, NKR light-duty truck, and even a marine engine, among others.
The star of Isuzu’s display was undoubtedly the company’s flagship sports utility vehicle, the mu-X, which launched during the 5th Philippine International Motor Show. It comes in three variants: the mu-X LS-A with a 5-speed automatic transmission in either a 4WD or 2WD configuration; the mu-X LS-M with a 2WD system and 5-speed manual transmission; and the mu-X LS which also sports a 2WD paired with a 5-speed manual transmission.
All these variants arrive with impressive features inside and out. The mu-X’s heart is a new 4JK1-TC 2.5-liter diesel engine with Common Rail Direct Injection and intercooled Variable Geometry System turbocharger which produces 136Ps at 3,400rpm and as much as 320Nm of torque at 1,800 to 2,800rpm.
Finally, Isuzu World on Wheels laid host for the turnover of 300 assorted Isuzu trucks to Orix Leasing and Finance Corporation for the use of Dranix Distributors Inc., a major trucking company based in Cebu.
