SAP recently launched its Young Professional Program (YPP), its flagship program for young students, in Southeast Asia. Developed by the SAP Training and Development Institute, the program is designed to expose selected candidates to SAP technologies. In line with broadening the digital skill of the candidates the program also aims to provide support for sustainable employment opportunities upon graduation.
YPP is to be piloted in Indonesia and Philippines and in its first wave, will benefit 50 students in the region by 2017. The free of charge training for the selected individuals will run for three months and will execute SAP’s development plan which include workshops on Design Thinking, Interview Techniques, Communication & Presentation Skills, and many more. As a program gearing towards long term results for young talent, it will focus on business system knowledge and entrepreneurial mindsets—skills necessary for thriving in the digital economy. After the program, students will receive certification on a set of SAP’s solutions that focuses primarily on the company’s latest innovations.

Through the SAP NextGen and programmes such as the ASEAN Data Science Explorers, SAP is already supporting the digital literacy of 13,000 youths in Southeast Asia. We are confident that the selected candidates for this program will gain valuable experience from the intensive training, and will therefore be equipped to contribute to the ecosystem upon their completion of the program.”
