Smart Communications, Inc., in partnership with LG Electronics Philippines, has announced the exclusive LG G2 Mini LTE postpaid plan. Priced at P1,200 a month, the LG G2 Mini LTE promises to be the most affordable postpaid smartphone bundle that comes with unlimited LTE surfing.

The Smart Postpaid All-In Plan 1200 comes with the LG G2 Mini, Smart’s unli-LTE plan priced at PHP 995, with PHP 205 worth of consumables. The mini version of the award-winning G2 runs on a 1.25 Ghz quad-core processor and the latest Android KitKat operating system. The G2 Mini carries most of the special functions that the regular-sized G2 has including the Knock Code feature which has more than 86,000 knock combinations. The phone will also be added to Smart’s lineup of HD voice-capable devices.

During the press lunch, Smart has also announced its continuous expansion of its roster of supported devices for HD voice. Aside from the G2 Mini LTE, Smart stated that it also supports the following devices: Samsung Galaxy S5, Samsung Galaxy Note 3, O+ USA 8.91, Sony Xperia L, and iPhones 5S and 5C.

The HD voice service is available to both prepaid and postpaid without having to activate anything as long as the phone used is in the list of supported devices. Devices need to have the Adaptive Multi-Rate Wideband capability built in which allows for better audio quality in calls by increasing the bandwidth compared to the traditional Narrowband.

The service is still limited to specific regions in the Philippines, including NCR. However, according to External Relations Manager Jose “Wo” Rosete, Smart is working on widening the coverage of HD voice support. Aside from this, HD voice only works between two Smart network HD voice-capable mobile phones. No deals have yet been made with other networks to support cross-network HD calls.
