Compared to Z3, the new Z4 is slimmer and lighter. It has a body measuring 6.9-mm-thick, weighing a total of 144g, made by metal-and-glass body, has a 5.2-inch 1080p LCD screen, a 20.7-megapixel camera, a 2930mAh battery, a 2GHz 8-core 64-bit Snapdragon 810 processor, and 3GB of RAM. With 5.5MP sensor, 25mm wide-angle and image stabilization, the new Z4 has a better front camera compared to Z3. The phone is operated by Android 5.0 Lollipop and is cwater and dust resistant.
As of now, there are no announcements yet about its availability internationally. However, The Z4 will be first released in Japan after a few months. The z4 is available in white, black, copper, and “aqua green”.
Hiroki Totoki, who was appointed last year to turn around the mobile unit, said “Sony was targeting the upper end of the market where rivals such as Samsung Electronics Co Ltd and Apple Inc dominate.”
“There’s a broad variety in the prices of smartphones, from around $100 to $1,400 at the upper end,” he told a news conference. “We want to focus in the upper half of that.”
