Did you know? It takes at least 20 seconds of washing with soap and water to kill germs accumulated from contact with public toilet facilities, says the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

With information and studies on hand, Safeguard introduced the Safeguard Germ Alarm. It is an attention-grabbing alarm and soap dispenser in one that was invented to tackle the issue of germs in public restrooms.

The Safeguard Germ Alarm campaigns to reduce the number of illnesses through prevention, simply by regular handwashing.

Once a person leaves a toilet cubicle, the alarm will be triggered and will only disarm when the soap dispenser is pressed. Also, alongside every installed dispenser is a guide on proper handwashing for individuals to follow through.

The Safeguard Germ Alarm was initially introduced during the Global Handwashing Day in October 2013. It has been installed in public restrooms across the country, recently in select McDonalds branches. Schools are also beginning to introduce the alarm to students, with Little President’s Learning Palace being the first.
