Globe is building more cell sites alongside other continuous improvements to reshape the internet experience using newer and more advanced technologies such as 4G LTE and 5G in both urban and rural communities.

New ways of working in urban areas demand socially and physically-distanced meetings, conference calls, consultations, transactions, and purchases.  On a lighter note, but likewise heavy on the need for better internet is the obligatory catch-up on movies, podcasts, and TV series to unwind; as well as school lessons and necessary downloads to fulfill school and work requirements. In rural regions, livelihood and education are a top priority for maximizing connectivity.

Cooperation from communities where sites are being built leads to better signal and connectivity through network improvements, proving that customers also influence site builds. (In our barangay, more are in favor than those who are not. I believe that this Globe cell site is the key towards the development of our barangay. This is an investment for the future of the youth in Barangay Macatbong.)

In fact, Reynaldo Oligario, one of the respected elders in Brgy. (That’s a big thing here in our area, because this helps children in their schooling. Why will I oppose it? Even if two towers are built there, I will allow it.)

Through its rigorous network improvements towards achieving a #FirstWorldNetwork, the telco has contributed largely to the total telco speed readings across the Philippines. Data shows one of the biggest jumps in mobile internet speeds in the past few months.

Ookla, the global leader in internet testing and analysis, said Globe has been registering better consistency scores in 16 of 17 regions in Q4 2020 vs Q3 2020. In terms of scores, Ookla®’s quarterly data showed that Globe’s overall Consistency Score in Q4 2020 improved to 60.82% from Q3’s 56.83%. Globe’s regional mobile Consistency Scores also improved from the previous quarter in 16 out of 17 regions, registering increases as high as 10 PPTs (percentage points), with Consistency Scores ranging from 39% and 65% in Q4 2020. The area with the highest Consistency Scores based on “All Technology” is Metro Manila at 65.17%

Mobile Consistency Score measures the number of incidences (viewed as a percentage) of a provider’s samples equal or exceeds both a download threshold of 5Mbps and an upload threshold of 1Mbps.
