Leading mobile services provider Smart Communications, Inc. has deployed community stores once again to support retailers and serve customers in areas affected by COVID-19 restrictions.
With the help of its regional distributors, customers can purchase Smart and TNT loads, WiFi devices from these rolling stores, while retailers can also top up their load wallets or purchase a retailer package. Some rolling stores also offer LTE smartphones and transact PLDT Home Fiber applications.
“It’s our commitment to ensure that Filipinos have access to our network and services during this time of need. If they cannot go to us, we will find a way to reach them in their communities,” said Alex Caeg, SVP and head of consumer sales group at PLDT and Smart. “We would like to thank the LGU officials and our partner distributors for helping us in this advocacy,” he added.
According to Gia Palafox, Smart FVP and regional head for NCR consumer sales, over 600 community lead stores are now in place in Metro Manila to serve both customers and retailers. For the public’s convenience and to provide increased customer touchpoints, the distributors have also shifted to digital platforms and delivery systems.
There are also more than two dozen rolling stores that have been deployed covering areas in Bulacan, Isabela, Cagayan, Tuguegarao, Quirino, Batangas, Cavite, and Mindoro. Rolling stores under distributors in Laguna, Quezon, Marinduque, and Bicol are also in the works to serve communities should stricter lockdowns be imposed in areas that they cover.
“Thank you, Smart, dahil may activity kayong ganito, hindi na namin kailangan pumunta ng malls para bumili ng device dahil sa rolling store niyo, lalo na ngayong may pandemic (Thank you, Smart, because of your rolling stores, we do not need to go to malls to buy a device especially now that there’s a pandemic),” says a customer at the Cavite rolling store.
These rolling stores also help retailers keep their livelihood in this time of crisis. During the enhanced community quarantine, Smart distributors continued to support their retailers to ensure that they have a continuous inventory of telco loads and WiFi devices to serve their customers,” said John Palanca, Smart FVP and regional head for Luzon consumer sales.
On the other hand, customers may still access products and services via official online channels, as well as physical stores, temporary booths in malls, convenience stores, and partner supermarkets near them.
