Toyota Motor Asia (TMA) has announced its refreshed lineup of seven Global Team Toyota Athletes (GTTAs) representing six countries across Southeast Asia on the road to the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games and Asian Para Games.
The roster includes two new para-athletes alongside returning athletes from the Paris 2024 cycle. Unified under Toyota’s regional brand platform, Move Your World, the initiative reflects the company’s belief that sport reveals what it truly means to be human.
Continuing to represent the Philippines are Olympic gymnastics champion Carlos Yulo and Paralympic swimming standout Ernie Gawilan.
New to the team are Indonesia’s Muhammad Fadli Imamuddin and Malaysia’s Muhammad Ammar Aiman Nor Azmi, who join athletes from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam across a range of sporting disciplines.
Since 2018, Toyota has partnered with more than 20 Global Team Toyota Athletes in Asia, supporting athletes who not only represent sporting excellence but also embody the power of movement to drive progress beyond competition. Through the program, Toyota continues to champion sport as a platform for inspiration, inclusion, and meaningful community impact.

Dual Hero Projects Continue
As part of Toyota’s long-standing athlete partnerships, each athlete will be paired with a Dual Hero Project, a Toyota-supported initiative tied to a cause they care deeply about.
Launched in 2018, the program has supported more than 20 athlete-led initiatives across the region. In Singapore, Toh Wei Soong co-created a 16-piece adaptive fashion collection that promotes inclusive design. In the Philippines, Ernie Gawilan led a nationwide coastal cleanup and mangrove restoration effort that mobilized more than 1,300 volunteers across 33 sites and planted over 10,000 mangroves.
Carlos Yulo has also worked with Toyota through the Start Your Impossible Gymnastics Camp, a youth development initiative that offers aspiring gymnasts the opportunity to learn from one of the sport’s biggest stars.
Move Your World Through Sport
As preparations for Aichi-Nagoya 2026 continue, Toyota’s expanded athlete roster brings together competitors who are striving not only for sporting excellence but also to make a positive impact in their communities.
