Samsung Electronics has unveiled the new Galaxy Z series, its most complete foldable lineup yet, designed to bring foldable devices to a wider audience.
The lineup introduces the Galaxy Z Fold8, a new form factor built around the way people explore, discover, and immerse themselves in content. It also includes the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, which brings Samsung’s Ultra standard to foldables with a larger workspace for productivity and content creation, and the Galaxy Z Flip8, its sleekest Flip yet, designed for expression and quick interaction on the go.
Built on seven generations of foldable innovation and consumer insight, the new Galaxy Z series gives users three distinct experiences designed to fit different needs.
Galaxy AI has been optimized for each form factor. Multitasking is easier on the larger screens of the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Fold8 Ultra, while the Flip8’s AI-native FlexWindow keeps relevant information and shortcuts within reach. Partner AI experiences such as Gemini Intelligence also give users more ways to complete tasks in fewer steps, with transparency, privacy, and user control built in.

Galaxy Z Fold8: A new foldable experience for everyday immersion
The Galaxy Z Fold8 is designed for users who want a foldable that feels natural when moving from quick interactions to deeper viewing, reading, and gaming.
Its display ratios are designed around the way people consume content throughout the day. When folded, the 10:16 cover screen is suited to messaging, social updates, browsing, and short-form video. When unfolded, the 4:3 main display creates a larger canvas for games and films. When rotated, the same display ratio is suited to articles, e-books, and other long-form content.
At 201g, the Fold8 is Samsung’s lightest Galaxy Z Fold yet. It combines the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy with a 4,800mAh battery for responsive performance and longer use.
A display engineered from the inside out
Samsung’s display engineering serves as the foundation for the new Galaxy Z series, supporting slimmer designs, greater durability, and more seamless viewing.
The company’s new Flex Titanium technology introduces a titanium-based display structure designed to help make foldables thinner while maintaining durability. It combines a titanium-alloy film with an enhanced titanium plate to strengthen display support, absorb pressure and impact, and reduce crease visibility over time.
Samsung said the structure also refines how the device opens by balancing hinge mechanics, display tension, and magnetic force for a smoother and lighter unfolding experience.
With up to 3,000 nits of brightness, Vision Booster, and a low-reflection display finish, the Fold8 main screen is designed to remain vivid and visible even outdoors.
A clear and versatile camera experience
The Galaxy Z Fold8 features dual 50MP cameras across its wide and ultra-wide systems, designed to deliver consistent high-resolution detail in different scenes and shooting conditions.
Dual Recording lets users capture both sides of a moment while previewing themselves through the cover screen. My FanCam automatically tracks a selected subject and reframes footage into a preferred aspect ratio, reducing the need for manual editing.
Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra: Built for maximum productivity
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra brings Samsung’s Ultra positioning to its foldable lineup.
Its expansive 8-inch main display provides a larger workspace for multitasking, while its camera system and battery are designed to support content creation throughout the day. At 4.1mm when unfolded and 215g, it is Samsung’s slimmest Galaxy Z Fold design to date.
Ultra-level camera system
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra features a 200MP main camera with High Dynamic Range capability in 200MP mode.
A new 50MP ultra-wide camera adds more detail and clarity to landscapes, interiors, group photos, macro shots, and other wide scenes. Improved Nightography is designed to produce brighter and clearer photos and video in low light.
For advanced creators, 8K video recording through the new APV codec provides more flexibility for editing and production workflows. Cine LUT adds cinematic color and tone controls directly on the device.
Power, battery, and cooling
The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform for Galaxy and includes a 5,000mAh battery.
It introduces a dual-path charging architecture with 45W fast charging, designed to distribute power more efficiently across the battery system for faster and more stable charging.
An expanded graphite cooling structure improves thermal conductivity and helps dissipate heat during demanding tasks such as multitasking, content creation, and AI-assisted workflows.
Galaxy Z Flip8: A slimmer, AI-native Flip experience
The Galaxy Z Flip8 is designed around quick interactions, personal expression, and AI-native experiences.
At 180g and 6.1mm thick when unfolded, it is Samsung’s slimmest and lightest Flip model to date.
The reimagined FlexWindow brings apps, insights, actions, and AI-powered features directly to the cover screen. Now Brief provides timely information and suggested next steps, while Gemini Intelligence can be accessed through the side key or natural voice requests.
FlexCam expands the Flip camera experience
The Galaxy Z Flip8 features a 50MP camera with ProVisual Engine.
Flex Mode supports hands-free shooting from different angles, while Camcorder Grip with Zoom Rocker provides a more comfortable and stable hold when filming on the move.
Super Steady now includes a Horizontal Lock option to help keep footage smooth and consistently framed. FlipShot lets users personalize the FlexWindow and capture mirror selfies, while Mirror View gives users a mirror-like view for quick checks before taking a photo.
Agentic AI experiences optimized for foldables
Galaxy AI now works across more apps and services, with experiences optimized for the different Galaxy Z form factors.
Now Brief provides personalized insights based on users’ routines, interests, and daily needs. It can also surface security and privacy information.
Now Nudge helps turn insights into action by suggesting next steps when plans begin to take shape in a conversation, such as checking a schedule, finding a place, or saving a location. On the larger Fold displays, users can continue conversations alongside related apps.
Gemini Intelligence helps users move from request to result with fewer steps by allowing them to describe what they need or add screen and image context.
With Gemini Notebook, users can combine notes, images, recordings, files, and documents in one persistent workspace. Drag-and-drop support in Split View makes it easier to add multiple files and images and turn content into audio overviews, infographics, reports, meeting recaps, visual summaries, and documents.
AI experiences also become more connected when the new Galaxy Z series is paired with Galaxy wearables and other compatible devices, allowing users to move between wellness insights, routines, and connected actions.
Security and privacy built into the experience
Samsung said trust remains a key foundation as AI becomes more personal and agentic.
Samsung Knox protects Galaxy devices with a multilayered approach that includes on-device personalization, user-controlled cloud processing, and ecosystem-wide protection through Samsung Knox Matrix.
For on-device AI, Personal Data Engine enables context-aware and personalized AI experiences. Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection creates encrypted, app-specific storage environments, while Knox Vault adds a tamper-resistant physical layer for sensitive information.
One UI 9 also introduces an AI Assistant Activity dashboard, giving users a centralized view of AI automations running on their behalf. Users can review AI actions in one place and navigate directly to the relevant agent for more context or settings.
Enhanced Privacy Alerts can notify users about potential privacy risks, including unnecessary attempts to access background permissions.
These updates build on Samsung’s existing security and privacy features, including Auto Blocker, Theft Protection, Private Sharing, and Secure Wi-Fi.

The Galaxy Z Fold8 series is available for pre-order in the Philippines beginning July 22. Prices start at PHP123,990 for the Fold8 Ultra, PHP109,990 for the Fold8, and PHP77,990 for the Z Flip8
All models are available in Graphite and Cream. Violet Shadow is exclusive to the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Lavender to the Galaxy Z Fold8, and Pink to the Galaxy Z Flip8. Online-exclusive colors include Green Shadow for the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Pistachio for the Galaxy Z Fold8, and Mint for the Galaxy Z Flip8.
