It looks like BlackBerry Messenger will be going into direct competition with the likes of WhatsApp, Viber, Facebook Chat, Skype and iMessage after BlackBerry announced that it would be launching on iOS and Android.
A tweeted photo of the app made by fan-based Twitter feed BlackBerry Worldwide (@bbworldwid) showed that BBM for iPhone and Android could be launching as early as the 27th of June.
Although BlackBerry has not released an official date yet, we find this amazing news as this will be the first time that the BBM service will be launched on other operating systems.
Little else is known about the app. What we do know is that it will add support for BBM Channels (the new social engagement platform within BBM that lets users connect with businesses, brands, celebrities and groups), as well as voice and video chatting for iOS and Android later this year.
