Globe Telecom stationed free LibrengTawag and charging services in three barangays in Nueva Ecija in aid to those affected by the widespread blackout caused by Typhoon Santi.

The services were offered at the San Jose Sur Gym in Cabanatuan City and at the Sto. Cristo Gym in San Antonio which both served as evacuation centers.  Around 300 and 400 cell phones were charged in the two areas, respectively.  The volunteer team also went to the barangay hall of Brgy. Papaya in San Antonio where around 250 individuals made use of the LibrengTawag services.

“After we learned last Saturday that Nueva Ecija was under a state of Calamity, Globe responded immediately by offering free calls as well as free charging to the affected communities.  We understand the difficulties of not being able to communicate with friends and relatives during such trying times so whenever disasters like this strike, we always do our best to help ease their burden as fast as we can,” said Fernando Esguerra, OIC, Globe Corporate Social Responsibility.
