Canon has just added two new models to its IXUS range of compact digital cameras, the IXUS 170 and IXUS 160.

IXUS 170
The new IXUS 170 features a 20MP CCD sensor along with a 12x zoom lens with a 25-300mm range, this makes the camera capable of producing high-resolution images and HD movies with a cinematic frame rate of 25p. Despite it bearing a very capable zoom lens, the IXUS 170 manages to impress with its compact and lightweight body; convenient for when you need a camera to document daily activities with. Designed for seamless operations, the IXUS 170 comes equipped with the Intelligent Image Stabilization (IS) technology, which automatically corrects incidental movement while shooting so images come out clear.

Its zoom lens is efficiently paired with Canon’s ZoomPlus technology that doubles its zoom range, so you get that perfect shot even from afar. Housed in a slim and streamlined form factor, the IXUS 160 (and the IXUS 170) is not only a looker with a DIGIC 4+ image processor powering its every function.
