Thanks to the success of last year’s Motorcycle Safety Learn to Ride Program, Suzuki Philippines President Satoshi Uchida and LTO Assistant Secretary Virginia Torres have jointly decided to bring back the program for a second year running. The program, a joint endeavor between Suzuki Philippines, the Land Transportation Office and the Motorcycle Philippines Federation, seeks to decrease the number of motorcycle road accidents in the country by educating riders of different skill levels. Last year, the program was able to reach eight different universities, including the University of Sto. Tomas and the Mapua Institute of Technology.

“The participants are thankful for te program, especially those students who use the motorcycle, but didn’t get the proper training,” Mr. Uchida  said. Both the LTO and Suzuki have determined the program a success, and agree that it is slowly gaining top of mind recall among riders, when it comes to safety.

To further strengthen the partnership, Suzuki has donated 16 motorcycles and 32 helmets for use in the various LTO branches for use with the Safety riding program. Interested participants for the program may sign up with Suzuki through their customer care hotline at 902-1001 or email their intent to join, along with their name, age, contact information and addresses to [email protected]
