Lonson Alejandrino, Cherry Mobile’s Smartphone Product Manager
Say what you will about Cherry Mobile, but we here at Gadgets believe it gives more people access to technology in a bigger way than almost any other manufacturer in the market today. The mobile device giant has just formally launched mobile phones, and a very impressive new tablet.
Ladies and gentlemen, the Cherry Mobile Burst…
The first of the phones, the Burst, is an excellent alternative to their already popular Flare. The Burst gives you a 4.0-inch Capacitive WVGA screen, 512 MB of RAM, and a 1GHZ dual-core processor, for the super-affordable price of PHP 3,999.
And its slightly bigger brother, the Thunder (sorry, for the dead screen, the battery was drained)
The Thunder is similarly-spec’d with a dual-core processor running at 1GHz, 512MB of RAM and a 4.5-inch screen. It’s available now for the wallet-friendly price of PHP 4,999. Both phones are dual-SIM ready. The last of their first quarter phones, the Titan TV, dwarfs the previous two devices, and is a 6-inch phablet that also runs a dual-core 1GHz processor, packs twice the RAM at 1GB, and is capable of 720p HD video recording, plus lets you watch TV through with the help of its cleverly-designed stylus/antenna combo. All three phones run Android ICS out of the box, so you have instant access to all the apps Google Play has to offer. The Burst, Thunder and Titan TV are all available at your nearest Cherry Mobile dealer or kiosk. (Forgive the lack of a shot of the Titan TV, There was no unit available at the time of the event. -Ren)
Take a good look at this face. We’re pretty sure you’ll be seeing a whole lot of these around.
Not content with launching three phones, Cherry Mobile had a little surprise to all those who attended the event: The Fusion Bolt. The little seven-incher is a surprising performer under the hood. It packs an A9 Quad-core processor running at a 1GHz clock speed, 1GB of RAM, Android 4.1.1 Jellybean and 8GB of internal memory, expandable to 32GB via microSD. The Fusion Bolt also gives you a pretty impressive 1280×800 IPS screen, a microUSB port, standard 3.5mm jack, as well as an internal speaker and microphone. Powering the little beast is a 4000mAh battery so you can keep going all day. The Fusion Bolt will be available at all Cherry Mobile kiosks, concept stores and dealers starting March, but the best part is the price tag. It’s yours for PHP 3,999. Better start camping out. This baby is going to go fast.
