Sharing hope in this time of adversity, the MVP Group of Companies has released a 2-minute video that showcases the everyday courage and heroism of Frontliners: the ‘real MVPs’ in the battle against COVID-19.

Simultaneously shared across the social media accounts of 32 companies, subsidiaries, and affiliates of the MVP Group, the video dubbed “Kaagapay n’yo sa Bagong Ngayon” expresses the companies’ commitment to work as one in helping the country ease into the “new normal” and rise again from the pandemic.

In every frontliner’s journey toward the “battlefront,” companies like PLDT-Smart, Metro Pacific Hospitals, Metro Pacific Tollways, Maynilad, MERALCO, PayMaya, and TV5, among others, have been with them in every step. By constantly innovating and taking proactive measures, these companies are working hand-in-hand with public and private sectors to make the “new normal” more bearable for all.

    “We Heal As One”

One of the group’s biggest undertakings is the transformation of the massive Philippine Arena in Santa Maria, Bulacan, into a 300-bed mega-quarantine facility for COVID-19 patients. Made possible through a partnership with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the Iglesia Ni Cristo, the proprietor of the Philippine Arena Complex, the largest “We Heal As One” Center in country admitted its first patient on April 14, 2020, and continues to provide care for the healing and recovery of the infected.

Aside from this crucial project, companies like Roxol Bionergy Corporation, Metro Pacific Investments Corporation, Metropac Movers Inc., One Meralco Foundation, Alagang Kapatid Foundation, MVP Rewards, and the Metro Pacific Tollways Group have also provided assistance to various medical institutions by donating sanitary products, personal protective equipment (PPE), medical supplies, relief goods, and other necessities.

Meanwhile, the country’s largest telecoms and digital services providers PLDT and Smart Communications has also offered connectivity to government agencies at the front lines, including the Disaster Risk Reduction Management Center, Municipal Command Centers, and Provincial Information Offices of select provinces by way of free installations of WiFi Internet and donating SIM cards, wireless devices, and electronic load for the use of frontliners.

In addition, essential services companies such as MERALCO and Maynilad have enhanced their services to ensure unhampered electricity and water supplies. Also, companies like TV5 and Cignal have been crucial in delivering fast and reliable news and information to keep everyone updated about the country’s situation and the efforts being done to avert this crisis.

Through these unified efforts, Manny V. Pangilinan, who serves as chairman of these companies, hopes that the Filipino people find hope and inspiration to help and support one another, “I hope that years from today, we can all look back at this experience and be proud of ourselves for choosing to help and serve our fellow Filipinos whose lives and future depend on us.”
